Join here!!

I was at training today and after the game as I was on the way to the tram stop I walked past Banno, Tex, Fev and Houla.

Banno is huge! a Monster! He was standing next to Fev and he made Fev look small.

When I saw the thread about him wanting to play KP in our backline my first thought was he is not big enough and that he would be pushed off the ball way too easy.

Banno is 6cm taller than Leo Barry 2cm shorter than Scarlett and Harley and the same hight as big Mel Michael. He is listed at 88kg but is a lot bigger than that now at a guess I would say 92 - 96kg.

I stand at just over 190cm and Banno looked taller than me but not sure if someone I fudging the stats or just he's bulk made him look bigger. I do believe that there is some stats being fudged as Fev is meant to be 1cm taller than Banno but Jordan is atleast an inch taller than Fev.

I'm so reaved up for the season and really feel that Banno can add a lot to the team in the back 50

He is huge, runs hard and has the pace!

Jump on the Banno Bandwagon!!!!!

I like Jordan, i really do.

last season was very very dissapointing however. he showed huge promise in 04 and even though he was omitted for a few games he still finish top 10 B&F.

i watch the round 22 game of 04 (where we beat the pies by a point) and he completley toweled up buckley. smashed him. out muscled and out makred him all night, and provided an option when we had the ball.

super game by him. some one should show him that tape and say to him make that your bench mark.

i saw him at traning about 3 weeks ago and to be honest didnt notice too much extra bulk but i didn't get up real close. but he was full tilt at training.

He had a POX season last yr, but good to see hes giving himself every chance to get the best out of his footy, he is a mountain, hes one that would glady hit Campo, a former bomber playing for carlton hitting a former blue playing for the bombers

I'd much rather someone like Hartlett or Setanta get a shot there before Bannister. Or Bower even. Or Raso. Pretty much someone younger, taller, and potentially better

Bannister or Prendergast? Hmmmmmm.

Even though it's not saying much, I think Bannister has more of a clue than Ian in the football department and he gets my vote.

He has the genes if you ever need someone to throw a quick one at a former player!

Yesterday played like it was his last game and was truely superb in defence. Played full back most of the day and kept his opponent quiet. His marking was brilliant and he was never scared to take a run out of defence, and on so many occasions goals resulted from turnovers and kicks from Jordy out of D50. He may have just saved his career....is he good enough to play Defence in the AFL?

thats my post from a while ago where i thought Banno may have just saved his career after a stellar performance in the Ants. As you say Bull, if he's put on all this muscle he may actually contend with the Thorntons and Livos of this world.

I can see it now though... plays a few games there, does ok, then gets pantsed by someone like Tredrea and everyone comes on here and complains about our "undersized defenders" and "if they're not 193cm+ they're no good".

I loved it when he bumped a hapless Richard Cole off the ball & ran in & goaled...

Gaddy Lyon creamed himself over it IIRC

that was the game against tassie down there.

i saw that on abc two and slayed them, was probably close to best on ground. but then again the whole team fired that day.

i loved it when he out muscled and marked bucks late in the third term when the game really was in the balance, and bucks was so digusted with himself that he yelled and punched the ground, while this was going on banno played on and squared the ball.

think it led to a shot on goal

That Buckley moment was gold.Trouble is,thats the only piece of brilliance i can recall from Banno. But i gotta agree,he really sticks on.But he does have a slight edge on Wiggo and Prenda in the ability stakes.Needs to back himself more for mine.

I hope we've got everyone pushing and competing for all positions and places in the team. Then we might start actually making up some ground on most other teams.

Always liked him and the fact that he can handle himself (in a boxing sense - thanks Dad) but maintains a cool unflustered persona.

Now, he's just gotta get the pill more often.

Never been off his bandwagon...like the Tyrant I dont fancy him as a KPP though and reckon he should be played on a half back flank or come off the bench to plug a hole or pickup a dangerous player.
Needs to get smarter and get to the next level and lift his disposal which can be hurried and erratic when pressured.
Good to read he has bulked up some more and he could be very valuable as he some leg speed and is very fit...along with Chambers I think he will get more games than expected and he needs to make the most of them as he is still in the delist basket come the end of the season, like I have said before though he is one of my favourite players and I'll be riding every kick he gets and pushing up for him when I get the chance and I really hope he makes it as he works very hard on the track and you like to see a player who does that get the rewards....

Banno won't get a sniff without injury. How many years in the system?

Banno is bottom 4 of our list as fas as I'm concerned.
