Yes yes yes, it is all Lances and Koutas fault. Last year it was Campo's fault. The year before it was that Ruckman bloke from Nth Melb whose name who escapes me or was that the year before? I sort of lose track of the various scapegoats . Our getting caught was that O'Reilly fellows fault. Definately.

Anyone who questions Koutas preparation or dedication to the cause has rocks in his head. Lance has played the last three seasons carrying injuries, it was no co-incidence that he played well in the last half of the season when he was able to get full movement in his knee. Fev had a groin injury and should not have been playing.

Our poor performance over the last few years cannot be placed solely on one or two players. It is a simplistic solution for simplistic people. Our poor performance was due to a wide range of factors that all contributed to the end result. We need a lot to go right if we are to improve, not just one or two players.

Lucky we have Lance and Kouta then.. or we would be last....

actually our poor performances was due solely to the fact we lost a @#$%&! lot more than we won 8) Turn that around and everyone will be happy.

okay not everyone. :?

Synbad, if Kouta and Lance aren't playing for Carlton next year then who is your next scapegoat?

I thought getting rid of Campo was going to solve world-hunger

We need to get our standards sorted all over the place.
Denis might be just as much to bláme as anybody with his bullheadedness. The difference with Denis is this.. he does put in 120%..i know that for fact... hes first in and last to go...
He might not have a clue about todays footy.. (not saying he does or he doesnt)...but there is a supreme effort put into the club by Denis. Discipline wise he is numero uno.. always has been always will be.
Denis will at least teach us how to be disciplined.. even if he has no idea about coaching.. and that discipline thing isnt easy to teach..

So by this logic I guess Prenda or Wiggo should be Captain and Vice Captain? Actually Mick Martyn was pretty disciplined, maybe we should bring him back and make him Captain?

21 pages, lots of opinions but has anyone answered the question yet?

Where is Lance at in his career?

A: I reckon he's started the resurgence but I agree with those who say Carlton had to find a spot for him in 2005. I reckon he was beaten more times than not as a forward with very few exceptions, and with more key defenders coming in like Hartlett and Bower and Eswards I think Lance wont be able to stay back either.

So I think he's going to have to make it as a forward flanker or be shipped out in 2007/2008.

I don't bag players, I bag the people who decide to keep them on our list. 8)

The second thing to remember is this.. Denis is not part of a salary cap..
Thats a purely financial decision..

I really believe that this club was good at winning while it was winning but when things have tipped over it has no clue....!!!

The players have too much power in the psyche of this club...

The club is scared to let a guy like Lance go because it fears failure!!!...

But the club is failing so something must be done1!!

I have the utmost faith in youth.. this club has stuck its little toe into the water a few times. found the water cold and is now shit scared to jump in...!!!!

Its slowly weening itself into the kiddies pool when it comes to youth...

Just like in a bush fire .. it sweeps everything before it blackening everything... but from the devastation comes new life...
Thats where were at now!!!.. and the quicker supporters , board members etc forget about the past and look into the future the quicker we will get out of this devestation and into a regeneration of life.

This bullshit about has beens/ deadwood should have been backburnt ages ago!!!...more faith should have been given to the draft and we would be much better off.

I hate this (bet each way) syndrome were in because were shit scared!!!

Where is the thumbs up emoticon when you need it? :)

Just checked my set-up as I'm not so much a regular.

This is my best thread!

Pretty sure we know the answer.

UNLIKELY TO GET DRAFTED!

Cory McGrath has been very solid when in the middle and for mine along with Whits, Fev and Chambers, has been one of the real hightlights of the WC.

The rotation of players in the middle has been enormous. Aside from the ruckman there were atleast 10 different heads in the centre square throughout the game.

This is a good sign and it helps to keep up the run but I guess it can also lead to a lack of continuity and communication between such a diverse mix.

When the likes of Braddles, Rats, Browny and Diesel were in the square together on a regular basis it was almost like they were psychic. Mind you having Harry as a ruckman help a tad  .

The current crop doesn't yet have that same connection but it is still early. I can only see it getting better, and very quickly.

Frenchy has been solid but he still doesn't always direct the ball to the right spot. We certainly need Kouta in the middle but his days are numbered and so I would love to see Carraz given more time in the middle. Some of his late game bash and crash was just what the Dr. ordered and a joy to watch from my seat.

I will put up my hand and admit Carraz has come on leaps and bounds since I suggested he was playing for himself midway through 2004 in the VFL. A certain blood relative gave me a good old spray. :?

I thought Carraz was gone but to his great credit he dug deep and pulled out a blinder in the 2nd half of 2004 ‘Lazarus’ is alive and well. Full credit to him and I suspect he will soon become a first pick each week. Being able to play aggressively down back or onball gets him a game infront of Bowyer and AB at this stage.

Moloney was a brilliant pick up for the Dees from the Cats and I hope that Carraz will develop the say way, except better. :P
