I actually thought we did pretty good....I am not accepting honourable losses and need to be better but another game to garner more big match experience

Worst players that had no impact was Fisher, SPS, Betts and Dow.

Hope players learn in big matches its the big moments that matter more rather than playing well for three quarters.

connection to forward 50 need to improve by 200% and this needs to be done this pre season. Everything else seems fine just abit of polish missing which is expected.

We work so fkn hard only to hand the ball back, some of Jonse's efforts tonight was embarrassing.

We are mentally weak, lacking leadership.

Cant believe we are playing Cripps on one leg, surely Kennedy or another youngster would have been a better option.

Hard to watch Cripps and this club.

Teague is playing for the now not the future, we are not good enough now, develop for the future.

This rebuild may have to go back to square one

The never ending rebuild continued

Our young players have not developed and still too reliant on footballers past their peak years

Tonight sums up our last twenty years. Pathetic.

I think everyone's covered this for me already.

I noticed tonight that the giants were physical at every contest. That's why the free kick count was in our favour.

The thing is though eventually they'll let some go and you'll get away with it. We are too nice, we need big strong bodies, bashing and crashing. Give away the frees, hurt the opposition, wear them down then knock them out.

Mackay joking about kicking straight the other week really hurts now. I get the feeling that he'll be 27 and we will still be talking about potential

The story of this century for us has been a complete lack of leadership or mental resilience.

How do you weed this out over a preseason? The clock is ticking...

WE HAVE OFFICIALLY KILLED SPS .

Maybe he just isn't good enough. Too slow, doesn't win one on one's and lacks penetration in his kicking.

10 players with less than 10 disposals
You won't win many games with that.

I keep saying they don't know how to win.

Choking has been the difference between missing out and making it this year. We're highly competitive with anyone but choking has cost us quite a few games this year.

Very hard to stomach. Two games where we went missing when the stakes rise and a game is there to be won. Don't know what to say, apart from have a look at some players on the list in the last three rounds.

Mention McGovern in the prematch post why is this spud a walk up start for us just shows our match committee are to gutless to play high paid players in the seconds total waste of draft picks
Jones is just ok but will be 30 next year that is why we should target a key defender Darcy Moore would be nice and as for simmo time is up he’s been a warrior for our club

So is Walsh.

Fish goes alright.

McGovern would've been handy

We need speed

Must have been a late withdrawal....

Pros:

Gutsy effort off a 4 day break. Were the better team for the majority of the game.
Very efficient first quarter.
Curnow, Weiters, Pittonet, Harry, Murphy, Docherty.
Liked Polson's game.
Dow did a few really nice things. But he's still not getting enough ball.

Cons:

Not going to win, when you can't score goals after quarter time.
We seem to be slow to adapt when the opposition change their set ups. 3 goals out the back in the last quarter is a structural problem.
Harry's set shot kicking. He started off kicking pretty well, but you could see his confidence seeping away as the misses continued to mount.

A fit Cripps is a leader, however he is screwed at the moment and I cant believe the cub is so stupid by playing him.

The only leader I see at the moment is Walsh, this kid busts his arse for this club.

Too many passengers.
Russell?

The bloke that's destroyed Cripps?

Dow and SPS not up to it unfortunately. Now that we can't play finals need to get games into LOB, Philp, TDK and Honey. Put Cripps in cotton wool and get him right for next year.

After the excessive Media for a 21yo, If I was Dow I would have given it everything with vigour till I ran out of fuel.

I would've attacked every contest with vigour.

He didn't. I want to see more of him, just not like tonight.
