I reckon he paid the price for saving us being saddled up with Brandon Ellis for 5 years...

Hope the new front office knows how to put the cherry on top.

Sos had in his mind the plan to finish off the build.

I am concerned that the new team might pull the wrong reign and not get us the missing pieces required to win it all.

Don't forget Sos' was building for our next premiership, not just to make the 8. Its a big difference.

That's why I am so concerned about the Brandon Ellis saga, because 1 bad deal like that is enough to leave us without the salary cap to get the players we need to win it all.

I'm not bothered by the recruiting if his sons that should have been done with Chinese walls and a board sign off, also the salary cap taken by low picks doesn't hurt us.

It's debatable IMHO. SOS has secured some very good KPP but he's used 6 top 20 draft picks on midfielders and not one of them are playing in our centre square at the moment. (Excluding Kemp) Several cant get a game. Not to mention our inability to select a small forward.
Perhaps SOS has selected the talls beautifully but the club thought someone else may be better at picking the mids. Time will tell.

As for late picks not hurting because of salary cap, St Kilda picked Callum Wilkie and Richmond selected Mabior Chol and Jake Aarts after Silvagni and O'Dwyer. All playing good senior footy. I doubt they were thinking the picks aren't important because they don't cost you much. I can't cop that philosophy. Every pick is priceless.

I don't think SOS picked his son. He would have been excluded from the process and it would have been signed off by the board. Blame lies elsewhere...

SOS made it clear he would exclude himself from the process long before draft day(s).

And with the Bryce trade we got O’Brien and Kennedy
And we gave up two second round picks to get a guy who provides no second efforts and has a body as brittle as a warm chicken bone on $700000 for 5 years

DeKoning is the only win for us
Kennedy is a forward not a mid

I hope your not defending the Gov
I forgot to mention he couldn’t even keep himself in shape and had to go to the fat farm last year for 3 weeks
Not bad for a professional athlete

Hey I will keep going
Gibbs wanted to leave a year earlier
Sos said no
If he said yes we would have got more for a lazy footballer with a over inflated value
Pity we couldn’t do the same wi :screwy: :screwy: ?th Murphy
Looks like Martin is cut from the same cloth
At least we got him for nothing
McAdam 10 games 8 goals
You failed to mention his second and third efforts
He needs to work on his kicking

Do you guys watch other teams?

We gave away picks 26 and 28 and Shane McAdam for Mitch McGovern.

At the moment we’re tracking like Jack’s (Of the Beanstalk) mother after Jack gave away the cow.

Over to you.

I hope for SOSs sake that Kreuger doesn’t become a regular senior player
Somehow I don’t think it would bother him

i don't really like this game anymore - we could go around in circles with it all night

anyway, i am happy with what SOS did with the list overall. by no means perfect but in terms of list management it was worlds apart from the rubbish that accumulated during the 8-10 years before he got there - now that was as absolute train wreck.
you read on here that he failed in recruiting a small forward, or enough quality midfielders etc. but i think people gloss over all of the things he did right and forget that recruiting isn't always a perfect thing.
just ask his predecessors.

lets hope Austin improves things further.

Are you for real or just bored.
McAdam who's played 10 games with 8 goals is suddenly a player yet Setterfield who is the 3rd most improved player in the AFL is no good WTF are you on man.
McAdam wouldn't get a game in 17 other teams.
McGovern is twice yes TWICE the player that McAdam is and would walk into 17 other teams.
Kreuger  Give me a spell.

We got a future 3rd round pick as well as McGovern. Agree we overpaid for him, but not by that much. He was contracted to crows.

McAdam shits on Mc Govern when it comes to second and third efforts
Mc Adams awareness is on par maybe better after 10 games
Mc Governs a far better kick
They are both good marks
To say MCGoverns twice the player is bullshit

Anyway we are all experts at the end of the day

I think when it comes to trading with the crows, SOS is well in front in recent years. Even if we gave them pick 26 and 28 without McGovern.

Btw how is our forward line travelling without him lately? Don’t underestimate the value he adds by those intangibles. He creates space for our other forwards and is remarkably mobile for a chubby fella.
