Still haven't calmed down! Thought we played really well after half time, but butchered it going forward. Really should have put it to bed in the 3rd. Thought Walsh was brilliant, and Murphy terribly under rated. There seems to be a school of thought that if you're not a kamikaze at every contest, you're soft. I think he's had his moments at times, but not tonight

TDK was great in the 3rd.

Thought some of the vitriol directed at Murphy again was OTT.

Controversial here for those who seem to want murph shot, I think he’s been excellent the last month.

how the bleeding heck did we pull that out?????

even without a game plan or a coach? sorry, but ive jumped off the teague train tonight - but im still happy for the boys, and us, that we won

Teague can’t make Harry to stop missing , or newnes or give them composure when the heat is on

It’s out leaders that have to calm the situation, not Walsh and cottral ( our new heartbeat of the team )

i agre with all of that, but i just couldnt make out any sort of pln, unless it is chaos footy.... that worries me

So, the HS gave the votes to Curnow, Walsh and Crippa.
I’d love to know who would have got the votes if Bradshaw didn’t push Docherty after he had kicked it OOF?
Could it be that Freo wins the match but No Freo player gets votes?

Maybe in that situation it would have been Curnow, Taberner and Walsh?
Anyway, just interesting to me...

PS. When did we get Robinson back??

Terrible free kick. Love the outcome

Free kick was there...momentum or otherwise, intentional or otherwise, the onus is on the player making contact

Yep - don't think the last free was there but the first two that they got weren't either ( but that won't be discussed)

I thought Casboult was lucky to be awarded his goal in the 2nd qtr - he clearly pushed his ruck opponent in the back. Both sides were gifted 2 goals.

What about the most obvious volley ball intentonal OOB about 15 seconds before that wasn't paid?
Freo got the overall rub of the green

Amazing finish.

The free to Docherty is a free every day of the week.

Really pleased with the overall effort.

Can't nurse TDK through to another pre season though. Was out pointed time and time again.

He's had a taste, that's enough until next year.

Eddie was never going to star in these conditions, particularly with the congestion he was facing.

Thought Curnow was terrific. I've been critical of him this year but he was probably best.

Actualy, I thought TDK had a pretty good night in the ruck. Didn't do a lot around the ground
I urge you to watch again. Particular at boundary throw ins. He isn't strong enough to mark yet either. It will come though

Yeah I agree, he's great at centre bounces but not much else at the moment. He seems quite decent at ground level although he got in the way of more mobile teammates at times. Having said all that, I can see what the hype is about.

Of FFS, he had a quiet game and suddenly, we're extrapolating that to be we put him on ice for the year. Let's just see how the last 6 weeks unfold with form, injuries etc before making the early call on TDK

Eddie's been down in output for a few weeks ... in the earlier games he was uncannily at the fall of the ball in our F50 so many times and if the ball came to ground he was there. But in the last few weeks his timing has been off or he's just been totally out of the picture.

A quandary for sure.

Noticed that as well. The ball spilled to the right and slightly behind in a pack marking contest at the top of our goal square in the last quarter and I pretty much pencilled in for an Eddie goal.
But, inexplicably, he got tangled up in the pack. Why Eddie, why? That’s not your job.

After quarter time we were the better team in general play
Poor conditions and poor game overall though

Free wasn’t there and It was Gibbons not Newnes should have taken it

The rub of the green evens itself out over a season even a shortened one
This one directly gave us a one in the win column

Play tdk in the ruck for the rest of the year
He gets to play on Witts next week. Different opponents
All new experiences

Cottrell looks a beauty. Another example of rookies who can be later developer’s

Walsh was fantastic. Getting better as the year rolls on.
Midfield is not good enough . Doesn’t bat deep enough
Dare I say it
Setterfield and Kennedy arnt good enough to play there

Murphy another soft 20 something possessions game
Simmo cooked as is Betts

Play some newbies instead of the old 3.
Won’t happen but should
Owies I would hope at least gets a game by the end of the year

Strange. I thought Luke Ryan was a clear BOG.

as did Darcy and Richo. They told us enough. Darcy did his usual 'fawn over a player all game'.

We dominated the 2nd half, and arguably won the contest in the 2nd qtr, but blew too many chances.

Tabenar was ok. But of his 3 goals , one was the softest free you will ever see, another was a direct result of jones dropping a sitter and falling into his hands and he had one good contested mark. He was ok around the ground on occasion but had a total of 12 possessions.

I thought weathering was fantastic tonight as he has been all year.

The most pleasing aspect of the last two games has been the tackling and hardness at the ball

Hopefully this can be maintained

The comadrie amongst the group has also been noticeable

Although our execution is still a long way off

Our forward line structure has been causing us problems all season. Need to be more precise entering 50. Looked even worse without Martin's silk. Zero lowering of eyes looking for a target. Poor old Levi getting 3 defenders all night and we keep banging it in high, rarely to advantage.
Couldn't agree more. Our lack of composure when going inside our forward 50 is very hard to watch. It's almost as if the bomb-it-in-as-fast-as-you-can is by design (chaos-ball theory as another poster suggested?). It's been a frustrating constant throughout the season. We seem to get enough opportunity inside 50 but there are too few good quality entries that rarely result in good shots at goal. Then there is the poor finishing when we DO get a good shot at goal, but that's another story.

Agree Wow. Can’t fault effort in any game since the break except hawks.

That tackle from SPS with 3 mins to go was a game winner.

Good hard contested game from the boys in very slippery conditions.

There were a couple of howlers from the umps against both teams but I didn't think they were as bad as many here think . Maybe it's just me watching the replay this morning in the cool light of day.

Like the look of the new guys Cottrell and Honey. Great movers and good kicks of the footy. TDK will be a beauty.

So happy for Noons. That's a dream moment to remember forever.
