it's true. you might be no 1 ticket holder for the MM fan club, doesn't mean we all have to buy in
When he plays shit I'll call it. I treat all players equally though, don't look at their age first.

Compare his game with others and tell me where he sits in today's game.

He was fine early. When the whips were cracking he played like a cat. Again. I'd rather a young bloke be overawed or outbodied rather than a 250+ game 'leader'.

Pros:
Very good first half.
Effort was there all day, even when they got away from us.
Good to see Fish back - clean and skilful which we’ve missed. Must play the rest of the year.
TDK showed there’s a lot to work with - just needs some time at the level to adjust to the pace and physicality.
Cottrell had a go and again showed enough to persist with.
Jones very good bounce back after poor game last week.

Cons:
Another failure to stop momentum in that third quarter.
Midfield beaten again. Not surprising against IMO the best midfield in the comp. Need to find another mature A grade mid - Kelly, Wines, Zac Williams can do it too.
Martin injury - not sure the severity but presumably missed games.
Really ruing the Melbourne and Hawthorn failures. If we’d won just one, then we’d be 5-5 and in it up to our eyeballs. Instead, we’re 4-6 and no chance of finals.

Win the Melbourne and Port games, one being a shit loss the other we were in front when the siren went, and we're 6-4.

Inconsistency in-game has really hurt us this year.

aunty.balls. uncle

True though. In such a close season stuff like that stings.

Just listened to Teague's press conference. He seemed happy with our effort. Must be hard trying to get the team up for next week. He seems to be quite relaxed with the loss and with where we are at against a top team like the Eagles. With two very winnable games to come, he seems to think we are in with a chance, if we bring the same intensity to the contest. He didn't say this, it was the impression I got that we've already moved on to next week.

Betts has kicked 1 goal in the last 4 weeks and 0 goals in the last 3 games.

I said the same after the 2nd goal. Drop someone in the hole to assist it’s not flower rocket science help the defenders when the other team is on a roll. Do something Teague FMD!!!!

You don't see it on TV but Docherty is almost always loose in the hole. He is struggling big time.

Yes he is. Started the season well but has been beaten by his opponent most weeks since.

Seasons cooked. It’s all about next year and beyond. Play the kids. Keep TDK in. Play him over Pittonet if Harry comes back. He’s the future. Bring in Dow, let’s get a look at Honey, hopefully Stocker is back soon. We need to keep bringing through youth

Freo and GC next 2. Very winnable. Actually, have to be won.

Yeah but not doing any damage this season. It’s still all about development. Too many missed opportunities already

While it's there you keep going. Making it, or working hard to make it will do more for development than anything else. Nothing like a lesson of what's required for the big time.

Wait until it's out of the question before giving others a run.

Disagree. For the first time this season, I’m at the point where I’d rather play Dow or Stocker over a Murphy or Newnes. It might hurt us short term, but these guys need game time to develop. We’re too far off the pace with the current lineup. Improvement has to come from underneath.

Playing TDK is the perfect example

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
TDK should've been playing well before.

No, the best form of development is fighting for a spot in the finals, and even better playing in them. What better learning. Rather play a final this year. Even if we choke it up it's better to have the experience for when we are really ready to contend.

We've been shit for so long supporters give up so easily at the slightest sign of struggle. That's a loser's mentality that's been ingrained. You learn to fight to the end not give up easily.

We're missing alot of best 22 against a side that may well win the flag.

I don't get caught up with pressers. It's about what is said internally. Coach's won't give you that much publicly.

anyone else think Levi looks frustrated as permanent forward and missing a run in the ruck?

He's as hard and brave as they come but some of his decision making coming out of defence is average at best.

Lone hand again up forward for most of the day and like Cripps is getting no support for the illegal activity against him. It’s frustrating a few of our boys currently. Didn’t help himself missing a coupe he should have kicked.

Everyone gets a trophy. Or should that be no accountability? Or even better, no criticism and no consequence? Welcome to the Lefts idea of sport. You know, like lockdowns, one size fits all. Can't officially say anything bad about an umpire. This will result in FINES! (sound familiar?) Especially when you wrap it up in the cloak of ....feelings. Oh poor umpires, lets all feel good and let them do as they please without scrutiny. See where this leads? Probably not, but lets all take the knee in solidarity , group think and feelings. Who cares if state Premiers lie, umpires cheat, as long as where in this together, like a collective hive mind, so no one stands up for fear of being fined for disobeying the rules. Rules? Oh the one for them and one's for others? Where you lay a tackle in the forward 50 and its deemed a ball up, and lay a tackle down the other end and its holding the ball? Oh yeah, thems tha rulez!

Maybe football should just get it over with already. We all go to the game, bend the knee to whatever feel good cause is the flavor of the month. Both teams win, we all get trophies, everyone leaves the game happy. No one is scrutinized, no criticism and most certainly no consequences, unless of coarse you step out of group think, like say anything bad about an umpire, then you can look forward to a nice massive fine. Now just shut up, pay your membership and pay homage with your dollars to our glorious advertisers.

Is there any chance we can leave this shit for TalkingStuff? I know it might be a strange idea but I come to a post match discussion thread to read about the match believe it or not. Not a Left V Right pissing contest FFS.

You'll hear the better umpires call "He had no prior" when the opposing team appeals for a holding the ball free kick but good ol' hero Nathan just paid a free against Sammo. Not AFL standard .... go umpire your kids in the backyard mate. You're a cheat.

If players are held publically responsible for blatant indiscretions eg 50mtr penalty; reported etc why aren't umpires.

Free kick count not that I know what it is but then again I don't want to.

Does anyone else notice the super slick handballs the weagles do that are not replayed. Are they look like throws to me.

The trip on Curnow that everyone including the man on the moon saw except the THREE officiating umpires.

After saying that, we still would have lost, just by less.

And we could all go on.

Rolled over for a tummy scratch on the holding the ball issue. Good to see the team go in hard; nice if the coach do the same.

Normally I'd prefer my team's coach didn't whinge about the umpiring but since in AFL it works (Paddy's 7 frees, Hawthorn after every Clarkson tirade) I say @#$%&! it, whinge away.

That cauliflower Shuey should get a week (he has form)

He will get suspended. But who cares. Does nothing for us, just helps their next opponent

Agree. Fair chance he gets suspended, yet no game day free kick. The umpiring across all games is becoming a real embarrassment for the game. No consistency with holding the ball. Just appeal every time you tackle someone and then hope you win the lottery and get the free kick. Feel sorry for the players trying to navigate what they can and can’t get away with once they take possession.

What about when Nic Nat drove Cripps head into the ground tackling him when he didn’t have that ball? No free yet surely a reportable offence, Cripps seemed quite dazed after that....

Still angry but in reality we were never going to win.

They thumped Collingwood and defeated Geelong. We did not disgrace ourselves. Take Kennedy and Darling out and let’s see how they go. We had too many key personnel missing and lost Martin who applies lots of pressure. Pitonett was not right either.

Just need to find a way to stop those run ons...

Someone please tell Teague to move SPS out of defence, we will destroy his career like we did with Gibbs.
