Let's not gift games, Philp has had a taste. Pick the best possible team, he isn't in it yet.

Newnes probably doesn't get picked in a perfect world either.

O'Brien for Newnes
Fisher for Philp
Harry for JSOS

i think playing a running game against the saints is the wrong way to go about it.

we need to be physical and stop their run, not try and beat them with run.

richmond let them play their natural game and got flogged, collingwood came with the pressure and intesity and won easily

let them run, and they will win, stop their run and bring the heat .. we will win.

Carlton by 3 points, we it wouldnt be a carlton win unless it was less than 6 points.

Harry and Fishy fish fish for JSOS and Phlip would seem to be the predictable changes but who knows...

What we do know is that there's a good team vibe (hi Libba) and the 22 who are picked should be prepared to perform.

Well, we’re a good contested team. I think we can beat them in that respect. Just have to make sure we’re clean with the ball and don’t leave ourselves exposed on the turn over as we did last night.

It also looks like rain is forecast for Saturday which I think will favour us

StKilda’s pressure against Bitchmond was the best I’ve seen from them. Our pressure game against Essendon* was down compared to previous week. We will need to bring our pressure game.
Hopefully McKay is right to go , as we need our forward line structure and whatever is wrong with Crippa, he gets over it as well. Having said that, our other boys, like Cuningham, Setterfield, Williamson, SPS, and Gibbons are growing.....this is the biggest positive!

i think we are more than a chance if we play the game to our strength. i think we will notch up our 3rd win of the season.

playing at the mcg helps us as well.

Looking forward to this one.
It's a genuine test of whether or not we have improved after our relative adder positions last year.
Thy will be hard to beat.

I want to win just to see what sitting in the 8 looks like in actual reality....lol.

If we had beaten Melbourne we'd have sat 3rd. Doesn't matter, as long as we can keep winning.

They played very well
Keep Philp in
I would bring in Honey or Fisher
Need plenty of run against St Kilda

Yep. The difference is we can now prioritise winning games over developing kids. What a time to be alive

Thursday night blockbuster now? We'll likely know soon. Tigers banned from Queensland.

That's what old mate Tony Jones is reporting

I hate when young players are sent back after one game... if they were good enough to break into the first 22 they deserve a chance to prove themselves... we will not win/lose this game based on one player.

Jack should be the only player replaced if need be...

be interesting this.

if this gets changed to Thursday night but remains at MCG, benefits Carlton
if this gets changed to Etihad, benefits St Kilda

understand them changing the date, but surely not that the venue??

Massive disadvantage for us if the venue is changed - so lock it in

HS reporting the game will be on Thu night at Marvel!
This benefits us - because it’s not about getting an easier ride for us at this stage but the opposite - we need o build the mental fortitude to relish the toughest opponents under the toughest conditions.
Only then, will we become the champion team we once were.
