I think the best thing about last night is that they had everything handed to them to win in that last minute and didn't.

Think it was Simpson who had someone wrapped up in a tackle on the ground, play had almost stopped and then some red and black cauliflower came in with a full on diving tackle on the tackler.

That was Devon Smith he was doing it all night

How was that a 50 against Eddie though?

No idea
Same reason as the one against Gov earlier, just because *shrug*

The most baffling decision in a long time. (McGovern 50). The club should ask for clarification. There were another 30 in the match that were more deserving of a 50.

Yes. He does a heap of good stuff but we just concentrate on the mistakes. Get with the program.

The Scum are not a very good side. With more accurate kicking for goal we were 5 goal winners.

Devon Smith, made a comment about in the match discussion, seen him do it in a few games and last night he did it a few times coming third man in, but its knees and hip into opposition player while they're down.

That was that dirty little grub Devon Smith. In what way is that remotely acceptable?

Should've been a free to Simmo. Can't just jump on top of a player who doesn't have the ball. The umps gave the cheats a holding the man free earlier for much less than that.

Nothing to see here according to the peanuts in the commentary box.

Happy Sunday all.
It is not easy being a Carlton supporter at present with these close finishes.
What the hell was that 50m against Eddie for? Anyone?
Eat shit Essendon*.
Hope Jack is okay.

I thought Cunners was very good but his disposal inside 50 was off. He also needs to get back off the mark better. He got too close with that shot late in the game and turned it over on the wing earlier doing the same. Basics but his run was excellent.
I thought Murphy was very good and his attack on the ball was better than Ive seen for a while. SPS was very good.
Martin was well off the pace. Seemed to struggle with the conditions (Was it dewy?) but his goal in the last was a ripper. Jones and Weiters excellent again.
Docherty was easily BOG for mine. His ball use off half back is sublime. Always picks the best option, executes perfectly and his kick outs have improved us immensely. Courageous, smart and provides great leadership for the other defenders.

Such a brave act too, to come in rugby league style and jump on an already neutralized player.

Definitely should be a rule about ‘third man in’.

Should be red cards in AFL. SOS off changed the game. Lucky to win given our structure was thrown off. That Ess scum should have been red carded.

Ling was even hesitating when he said Merrett may have a case to answer... based on the outcome.

Then summarily ignored by supreme douchenozzle Brayshaw. You could almost "hear" the grin on his face as he didn't even respond. What a straight up pillock that man is.

Zac better get weeks.

As I see it (according to https://s.afl.com.au/staticfile/AFL%20Tenant/AFL/Files/2019%20Laws%20of%20Australian%20Football.pdf...

Eddie encroached the 10m protected area before Saad left the goal square. This happened before he was illegally blocked by Gleeson (#8).

However...Redman (#27) had not vacated the protected area as he was required to do.

Therefore, it is possible that two players from opposing teams were in breach of the rule simultaneously, which should have seen play restarted with a ball-up (at the top of the square, I presume).

Finally, regarding the 50m penalty, the free-kick should be awarded 69m from the goal line (9m goal square + 10m protected zone + 50m penalty).

FMD 69 meters is a harsh penalty...

From where we are coming from, to win these games, hell any games, is most welcome.

The fact that we legitimately can say ‘we should of won by more’ is extremely pleasing.

However we have clearly been the better side for a majority of the last 2 games and should have won comfortably. The fact that we left the door ajar and that both games were in the balance right to the final siren is not good. Both were so close to being nightmares.

Don’t get me wrong, absolutely rapted to get the wins and the lessons. We just have to get better at converting our general dominance on the scoreboard. Game should of been over at 3 qtr time last night.

Another big test this week. Saints were very good against the Tigers yesterday.
