I was going to fly down for it. Not anymore.

I've got flights/accomm booked for the North game over the ANZAC weekend.

Fingers crossed.
Under the banner of 'what could possibly go wrong'.. I bet THIS wasn't one of the considerations...

Still will be excited to read The King selected for round 1, spectator free.
No perceived pressure.

Sitting it out too. Mostly because I have a newborn and its too late a night for me, but COV19 isn't appealing either.

Hope SPS, O'Brien & Stocker played well in the NB 's game tonight, we need them up and running and in contention for round 1.

No Carlton listed players played in that game unfortunately.

This will be an interesting test for AFL. They have always put financial interest ahead of all else.

Given recent developments they have a moral duty to act in the public interest here.

It is likely that the Melbourne GP will be called off.

Gil will really have to rise to the challenge here.

Now that the GP is "postponed", there will most likely be an empty stadium next Thursday.

North Melbourne with a distinct advantage this season... experts at empty stadiums.

As soon as the first AFL player (or masseuse, boot studder, runner, coach) gets infected, it becomes a matter of oc health and safety for all others. Incubation period is up to two in-season matches...

NBA just shut down the rest of their season after ONE player was confirmed.

If it is played behind closed doors how will Darcy Lang know what to do if I'm not in the stands screaming at him to 'kick the flowering thing!'

If the games are played to empty stadiums, get someone in the box with like 6 or 7 different cheer types rigged up to the loudpseaker on buttons: 'BOOOOO,' 'BALLLL,' big cheer for goal, disappointed "AWWW,' regular chatter, 'OOOOOOOH,' and of course 'UMPIRE'S A WANKER * CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP'
Get them to push whatever button as the action unfolds over the speakers, just have "YA MAGGOT!" going at 10 second intervals whatever is happening.

Perfect.
