Vote currently running 65% for Teague.
Whilst I am very interested in how we go over the next four weeks, the more I think about it the more I realise that it probably shouldn’t make much of a difference to how we view Teague.
I DO believe it will affect the confidence with which the Board is prepared to support him or to go against supporting him. But I don’t think the next four weeks could really condemn him from here. With the possible exception of a poor showing against StK.
Apart from that, we are playing the three favourites for the flag. With a list that most people believe is at the lower end of the ladder (with good upside).
Even if we lose all thee by a significant margin, doesn’t mean that Teague is not the guy.
Would we be expecting to suddenly beat these top teams if Clarkson had taken over a few weeks ago?So, I think Teague has done the bulk of the work to get to 5/7 against teams who are considered better than us except GC. A strong showing for the last four weeks strengthens the case for Teague. But a poor showing top three teams doesn’t really stain it for me, provided we win one of the last four most likely against the Saints. But I’d even wear a loss to the Saints if we pinch one of the others.
That’s still a return of 6/11 after a start of 1/11 and 3/34...
Possibly.
And we might not have had a 41 point turnaround against the Dogs in our second game loss to them or lost to Melbourne.
We will never know.
The other games have all been great wins though. I agree he has almost got the job, he just needs to knock off the Saints and one of the others and we will attract A-graders and he can take the job. Win Win for the club.
