Agree, but I suspect Teague will be up against it because he goes against the Carlton "process".
That being "experienced messiah followed by young coach" ... rinse and repeat.
We're due next for a old guy.

{Parkin, Brittan, Pagan, Ratten, Malthouse, Bolton}

Huh... I've never looked at it like that before! To be perfectly honest, I'm waiting with bated breath to hear what Teaguey's catch phrase is after Wayne 'Stick Fat' Brittain, Brett 'Early Doors' Ratten and Brendon 'Green Shoots' Bolton.

I think it's just been a knee jerk reaction to go for something different than the most recent failure. I'm hoping that we don't apply the same bias this time, but based on the tone of Judd's comments etc it sounds like that's the favoured direction. (Ironically no one thought to ask Judd how much experience he has in his current role).

I fear that Clarkson could be a disaster at Carlton. Even more so given it's looking like we might have a gem of a coach right under our noses.

There is no way i think he'd be a disaster.
Wouldn't take me long to get onboard at all.
But...
would so prefer to go with DTYB.

Clarkson is too good of a coach for it to be a disaster ...

for mine ... its Clarkson (which i actually dont see him coming over) vs Teague .. who is literally doing everything right .. hasnt got a single step forward wrong.

ffs, we are literally two goals from being 6 straight wins ... its been extrodinary ... big 4 weeks left though ..

That'd be 7 wins actually.

The draw is unbelievable considering how bad we were.

At least with Teague taking over he can just coach and not tank. Best thing ever was trading our 1st rd pick, no pressure to tank for a better pick...

I’m still wary about allowing short term results to decide a long term appointment, but Teague’s stock is rising to an almost irresistible point.

It's almost at the point where to not select him would go against the players, the members, the supporters and even the press, which is coming on board.

I’ll wait for the win glow to subside again, and watch another 4 weeks. But, jeez, that was a 4 quarter, organised, mature game against a side with everything to play for. Finals and a draft pick. And they got spanked.

It’s incredible at the moment the turn around. Incredible.

And even more importantly, the current coaches record. This should not be underestimated. Buckley took over a team that lost GF and headed south for quiet a few seasons. Almost cost him his job a few times.

Say we lose the last four leaving Teague and 5 wins 6 losses. That's the minimum bench mark for the new coach. Anything that isn't a significant improvement on that, any player who's form drops and the criticism will start. We're all very familiar with how bad we can be. Imagine they fork out mega $$ for Clarkson and we're 2-9 half way through the season. Don't be thinking there's going to be any sympathy for the players getting used to a new coach if we've ditched a coach who they were playing well under.

We win any more and this becomes even more significant.

Plot twist - Adelaide miss out on the 8, sack Pyke and make a play for Teague to return.

If the last 7 weeks were the first 7 of the season, we'd be 'equal' top - I believe.

....but we won't be judged on wins/losses

Is he yet to display any anger or disappointment in the coach's box?

I like the tweaks that have been made - SPS back, Ed inside, Kennedy forward - but some of the players really are taking the piss with their attitude pre-Teague vs now. I sympathise with whoever gets the full time gig.
