Hawks let Clarko walk....l highly doubt it.

It would be almost comparable to the Barassi coup. The present committee cannot hold a candle to the movers and shakers of yesteryear.

However it would be fun seeing how the angry ant gets on with our board....”clowns to the left of us jokers to right”

Can see this playing out - Clarkson starting to drop the "can see our next premiership side in this list" line after every game...only for the Board to decide to go for a rebuild with which he disagrees with and walks citing differences in the direction of the list build.

I hope so anyway.

People flipping out over Judds comments need to relax.
I’m sure Teaguey already knows exactly where he stands in terms of the coaching job, so nothing Judd or anyone else says publicly would be anything different to what he doesn’t already know.

Agree supporters need to get a grip on emotions great to see the novice do well, he’s certainly stirred us but Teaugy is only 4 games in , long long way to go.

What is Judd's definition of "training wheels still on"?

Teague has coached his own team (Northern Blues) for 3 or 4 years. He was then an assistant at AFL level for the past 8 years. Would have thought that his training would be well and truly off.

What happens if the experienced coach we're looking at chooses not to come? Do we then get a 2nd rate experienced senior coach so we can say there are no training wheels? Why put a line through anyone at this stage of the process?

Something like that...
Different direction, not what the club needs right now, best for the club if I...

I think Chris is good at a lot of things...a media performer is not one of these things, but no one has told him. I'd be asking questions of him if I was a fellow board member.
The panel has by now put together a shortlist. I think Teague has to be on that shortlist, but he's on the very bottom of that list. His only chance is if he goes to the interview with a supergroup of line coaches. Could be Campo, Hicky, Monty that come to work with Teaguey as match-day coach with a senior bloke as director of coaching...I dunno...but he's gotta think outside the square and his pitch is likely a tougher sell than the other blokes fronting up to the panel.

I'm not set on Teague but he's been good... Very good.
Don't believe the 'just letting the kids play to their strengths' mantra... that's for the media and the rusted on yahoos that will support the Blues and never question anything.

Case in point...
SOJ onto Fyfe... In the presser Teague said that they planned for it of other things (Ed) wasn't working...
Can anyone find me a post/media quote/media analysis /hallucination/previous tag(big bodied other teams players) ... where this had been discussed/done before it happened?

IMHO this show as both preparation and thinking at paln B, C, D level as well development WAAAAYY beyond 'we'll let then play to their strengths' rubbish.

(BTW has SOJ ever played a run with role? Seniors or NB's?)

Anyway, my 2 cents

Go Blues

Possibly. But the best part is, we might actually have proven senior coaches lining up at the door for the job. Which in itself, is a good reflection of the talent and where we are at in our development at the moment.

If there ever was a panel to begin with.

Agree that would be his best play, but I’d say it’s a measure of the bloke that he’s not about to drag any other name but his own through this charade.

Not entirely fair.
I am v impressed with Teague so far and keen to see how he goes for the rest of the year.
And he should get credit for that plan B. And I think we have also seen a clear uptick in performance from Charlie, SOJ, Casboult and Murphy since he took over the reins.
However, DT did also mention that SOJ was used as a training tagger over summer for Cripps to practice. So, while it was Teague’s call to leverage that on match day, it didn’t come completely from nowhere.

Well, you can certainly see a snake like Clarkson saying one thing and doing another.

Actually, he made a comment a week or two back that raised my eyebrow. I can’t remember the exact detail, but IIRC he was commenting about another coach and the scrutiny they’re under—it may have been in relation to players being “freed up” after a coach is sakced—and he said something like “I’m sure it will be the same when it happens to me.”

It may not mean anything, but it did make me wonder if Clarko is not as wedded to the Hawks as he’d like us to think.

Oh, and Roos is practically gagging for a mentor role with us I reckon. He keep banging on about it so much.

Only because he's asked so much. I personally think he's got a healthy legacy to preserve and shouldn't go near Carlton. And LoGiudice desperately wants to leave a legacy... we'd be foolish to think a godfather offer to Clarkson hadn't at least been verbally put forward... considering the offer made some years ago to Graham Wright and the obvious connection to Andrew Russell.

FWIW I don't think people here are salivating over Teague, (as has been suggested). The favourable comments I've read have all been quite measured and included caveats such as "need to wait and see until the end of the year". It has been observed that he's match day performance has been a notable improvement and that some players are playing better under him.

If salivating, so to speak, has been happening it's been over the prospect of Clarkson. I'm assuming most TCers have been around a few years, (as I have myself), and I'm amazed that so many still seem have the messiah thing going on. There is no certainty at all that Clarkson would be a good fit at Carlton, (any more than Pagan and Malthouse were).

And Judd shouldn't do media.

I kind of like the idea of Voss and Roos combo - I joined this site back in 2004 and started unloading on Pagan and have been pretty much unloaded of every coach we have had since

How much more fun would it be bagging the crap out of two of them

double the fun I think
