Certainly coaching like a bloke who has left the building.

Have they won a game since The Lunch?

I hope not.
Too defensive.
Took StK to a couple of GFs but they had a shit game plan and despite the drawn one, didn't win even with the cattle at his disposal.
They got there despite him, not because of him.

Whoever we get needs to teach these players not to start games half-arsed and how to hold a @#$%&! lead in the dying seconds.

Teague is getting the best out of those who have been missing for a couple of years. They're not all firing together.....yet, but you sense that will come. Weiters and SOJ are playing with some confidence again.

Weiters has been playing good footy all year and Jack has been building in the first half. Kennedy is probably the only one who has made a slight change. IMO.

I Just watched Teague's presser and he already has the cliches' going, "getting the crowd going" or "the players are getting belief".

Not sure if he was rattled or not but he seemed to think we were good on the inside of contests just poor execution on the outside. I must've been watching a different game, I think we were getting out muscled, out played and smashed in the contests for most of the game.

I watched his presser and thought exactly the same thing - they were clearly out muscling/playing us in the contests up until 3qtr time.

I thought we were better at the physical contests but poorer outside our skills were woeful at times.
Considering SPS, Dow, OBrien, Walsh ( Skinny youngsters ) Simmo and Gibbo very short easily brushed aside, against hardened men like Jones and Lewis we had a good crack.

The first 15 mins of q1 and the last 10 mins of q2....our inability to clear half back....and try something different.....was frightening

They tried but as has been the case these past few seasons, we lack class and polish.

We were always going to get outmuscled today.

This was their Grand Final, that's why they bought that cauliflower Lewis back in.

Brayshaw, Jones, Viney, Oliver, Petraccca, Harmes and even Fritsch are all inside bulls. They also all can't kick as well, which went a long way to them not winning by more/being absolutely shit this year.

Was pretty prepared for them to come out and throw the kitchen sink at the side below them on the ladder, pathetic really, but it's Melbourne. The fact that we didn't get blown out like last year is a major positive, and nearly pinched the game despite being terrible ourselves for 75% of it.

A draw would've been a very apt result for both clubs, but if Melbourne winning means the blowtorch goes off them and they continue to overrate their list that's fine.

This club might as well hand their licence back to the AFL if we appoint Ross Lyon.

Hiring Ross Lyon would be an error for a number of reasons.

The way he wants to coach doesn’t match up with our list. Ross has always wanted to rely on a strong senior core of players and has no interest in developing youngsters (see the mess he left the aints in). Our list doesn’t have a strong senior core so the focus has to be on developing the youth we’ve got in. I don’t think Ross is suited to doing that and he probably doesn’t even have the desire to do it.

Ross reminds me a bit too much of Mick. A senior coach with an agenda that can do more damage then he’s worth. Has the potential to put the supporters off side like Mick. I bet Freo supporters would love to hand him off to us.

I really hope we’re looking elsewhere.

Spot on. Ross Lyon is not what we need.
