Sadly I haven't had a chance to see the game. I have seen the last 2 mins a few times. Damn the 1%ers by the team were brilliant. Just getting the ball forward at all costs and harassing their opponents with total commitment was a joy. Murphs goal was terrific but everything that lead to getting the ball in his hands was inspiring.

Go you good things.

Good call on the 1%. Their smarts in playing wet footy on display. Clever little kicks and taps off the ground. Light years from that crap we tried to play against Scum.
Maligned but I love Kennedy’s inside work. And OBriens involvement just continues to grow. When he wheels onto that left I’m starting to expect a positive outcome.
Still walking a foot taller. Go blues!!!!

Yes agree...I've said before and will say again; if you're chasing the ball with no chance of picking it up without a fumble or being tackled, just soccer the damn thing and keep chasing...until someone has time and space to pick it up

Some say its lazy. I say it's smart. That last play had soccer kicks from Newman and Gibbons. It won us the game

Growth all around in the last 3 weeks. And getting off the bottom is like lifting a heavy cloud :thanks:

I agree entirely about kicking the ball off the ground. Surprised we don’t see it more in AFL
However, from a young age they are coached not to kick it off the ground.
In GSV (Girls Sport Victoria), if a player kicks it off the ground it is a free kick against them. The rationale being that it would become more like soccer than AFL.
Cheers

Just watched the replay again for the fifth time and guess what:

No - it would be someone from Channel 7 Perth.

I thought Fyfe was the best player on the ground, despite the loss and his being tagged.
Interesting that one coach gave him three and one gave him nothing.
Walsh lucky to get in the votes. Casboult might have got 2.

Interesting also that we won with 31 seconds to go but there is only one other Freo player in the votes.

Fyfe was killing us up to half time but had limited effect after that.

And I think the votes overall reflect the fact that we scored 11 goals to 6 after quarter time.

No doubt you are correct regarding the votes but I still think Fyfe was BOG. I watched the replay again last night and even though Jack and Ed were tagging him, he got a lot of it but couldn't find space. Also, he did a lot of 'captain' stuff with his shepherding and moving the ball forward in packs and so on.
Obviously the coaches agree more with you than me.

I thought the Kreuzer front-on hit took the wind out of Fyfe's sails. He was genuinely hurt. The high contact was a combo of his and Kreuzer's hands as they disengaged but the bump was hard and fair.

My thoughts exactly

What makes them think they're going to walk back into the seniors?

2 damaged knees and 1 damaged foot, what makes you think they are going to walk anywhere? :)

Went to the game not really expecting much...well, just hoping not to get pumped.
Went bananas when Murph kicked that goal and then the siren went but caught the train home in a kind of a trance. Never felt like that before after a close win, i felt a bit concussed.

No mate.

We were well behaved and the Docker folk took the loss with good grace pretty much.

Yep Optus was 75% empty within 60 seconds of the final siren but the noise from the Blues faithful drowned out all the sobbing.

'Stop your sobbing ' was the Pretenders debut single??

I'll have to do some research there?! Brass in pocket definitely their first big hit....

Ray Davies sure could/can write songs

Go Blues

Surprised Walsh got 2 votes. Thought it was one of his poorer games.

It was off the Kinda Kinks album. I bought it in about 1971

Bloody hell. Some serious talent on the sidelines there.
