Pros:
We won a close game. :thanks:
Off the bottom. :thanks:
Ability to fight it out again. Especially when short of our better players.
Forward pressure. Haven't seen that from Carlton for a long time.
Murphy, Casboult, SPS and Ed.
We're a better team with Jones. Even though McCarthy kicked 4 goals, I thought our 3 tall backs (Jones, Weitering and Marchbank) were very influential.
Good games from O'Brien and Dow. I like seeing Dow up forward more. When he gets some confidence in his kicking, he could be a real weapon when resting.
Good 2nd half from Kennedy. Hope his confidence rises.
I like how Gibbons gets us going on the scoreboard, when we're struggling.
Really happy to see SOJ get some midfield time. And love his tackling and team play. But For a 3rd tall, at the moment, he's pretty average overhead.

Cons:

Early misses and another slow start.
Poor goal line defence a couple of times.
Walters staging for frees.

Absolute joke really. Freo kept doing this and were not penalised 50m. The more they got away with it the more they kept doing it. Bulldogs did the same two weeks ago.
At least we won in the end. Go Blues!

I meant to write it earlier but this win is a great advertisement for the 6-6-6 rule.
Last year, Freo would have put 16 players in our forward fifty at the centre bounce and snuffed the game out after they hit the front with 2 mins to go.
Then we would have done it with 31 secs to go.

The excitement created by the open field placings would not have been there last year.
Well done to the AFL for that if not much else.

38 degrees on a Greek Island and we went nuts watching game on fox sports
Carlton FC should set us up a go fund me page to get us out of Sydney.

My kids suggested it coz we win when we travel:
Shanghai vs Bombers in the wet.
Florence vs Suns and we needed a win badly
Paris vs Port and we pinch it with the last kick.
Great moments and memories that last a life time.

Came down for Teague first game vs Brisbane.

These kids are really fit.
They really believe.
The old boys are leading the charge.
Kids bring enthusiasm.

This win will pick up everyone.

Lost 2 captains for this game.
Lost 2 key forwards for this game.
Down a player from the first quarter...and we win.

Destination club.
Teague may be the coach blueman was seeing in the future.

Just watched the replay with the kids.
It really did happen.

I love youse all.
Crete next weekend. Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!

Lot's of credit to the coaching staff.
At 1/4 time Freo lead the clearances 14-9 and ground balls 40-26. It takes a lot of guts to tell 2 of your part time midfielders in 2019 to go hunt the footy when you're 5 goals down.

The change in tactics all round served us better. It was reminiscent of Richmond 2017. We knocked it forward, kicked it off the deck. Did whatever we could to gain territory and our backline once again set up beautifully behind the ball. With a "mosquito fleet" up forward of Fisher, Dow, Gibbons, Walsh, SPS and with Levi and Kennedy doing the heavy work, we were able to keep it in our front half and gain the rewards. The first 17 inside 50s of the second quarter turned the game on its head.

The difference in game style is obvious since Teague took over. Yesterday Carlton scored 55 points from forward half chains for the third game in a row after doing it just once in its first 11 games.
Our senior players have come in for some flack but they were sensational yesterday. And as it should be, the kids played their part. The most impressive thing for me was the physicality. Players smashing in at the ground balls. Kreuzer crunching Fyffe. SPS' flying tackle.

And for some of the whipping boys? Plowman? Great game. SPS, played a vital role. Murphy? Sensational game. All class. Very proud of everyone involved.

Even more impressive was the fact he kicked it on a more difficult angle than it should have been. Fyffe ran 3 metres over the mark and then pointed another 2 metres ahead of him indicating the mark.
Some of the decision making yesterday was abysmal. Against both teams.

Yes, we will lose games we should win and our development will ot be linear but ne thing is for sure, the other coaches all just sat up and took notice.
Here is a bold prediction.
We will win at least two of the next three. Depends on which Sydney turns up.

Kerr might get his chance next week. McGovern didn't really lift as much as we needed him so I suspect he will come in instead of leaving Levi forward.

Special mention to Jack Silvagni who showed us all what g&d are worth. He did a great job in putting pressure on Fyfe where Curnow didn't have the height.
Speaking of Curnow, if Jack can develop into a run-with player and Curnow can get 16 clearances, there's someone who can help Cripps.

Great win by the boys and I am glad for Paddy Dow's sake we got up because you lot would have blamed him for the loss for the rest of his career. Someone called for it, he stepped off his line and changed his mind. Too late.

Was thinking the same thing BS. Great on the job experience tagging the best inside-mids. Jack could become another Jobe Watson/David Mundy by the age of 24-26
