Neither was Paul Roos three games into his career.

You may be right, but it's often possible to find stats to support any point of view.

Agreed.
Let's hope it does work out though, it'd save a whole lot of unsureness for the playing group.

Roos was 1–3 after his first four games. So, yeah, Teague is no Roos, he's better!

Might be easier to do so when you win, but spoke well here...

Could do worse than keep Teague on.
Why not give him a 1 year contract with clauses for a 2nd etc?

I agree

Give him the gig

His match day coaching is excellent-he has made some great in games moves

It may be the win - but I love him today :)

Very articulate and well spoken is Teague.

A more natural media performer than Bolts.

If he keeps this up the coach selection panel will have a hard job....or should l say easy job.

Not sure if you mean give it to him now, but IMO we would be mad to make any offers before the end of the season. If you're not an English football fan, google "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer" for more info.

If he gets the job he will get it on merit. I reckon 10 or 11 weeks is a good enough sample size to determine if he is up to the role.
I think Its a good position for the club to be in. We get to asses Teague first hand for half a season whilst also sounding out some of the senior guys.
If we keep beating teams in the top 8 the decision come seasons end will be a pretty simple one.

Before Bolton was appointed, the club articulated its desire for a young coach who can grow with the list.

We may have found it right under our noses.
- Teague is a Carlton man through and through
- He has form in taking average lists to grand finals in state leagues
- He played the game at the highest level
- His brand of football is uncomplicated, and will stand up in finals
- He's done his apprenticeships at various AFL clubs
- He has proven his ability to make decisive (and match-winning) in-game changes. (Bolton's biggest weakness).

Still a lot of games to be played, and a few very winnable ones over the next month.

We could do far worse than bring a mentor in for Teague. Maybe we should focus on getting a good team around him and cultivating a path for him.

if he gets it I still wouldn't mind seeing Roos there for a couple of years overseeing the lot

Why NBH? What is it that you think Roos in particular is going to add, (or do you just mean an experienced mentor of which Roos could be a candidate).

Yes, an experienced mentor, someone to oversee and help structure the whole football operation, and provide support to Teague (i.e. keep the wolves at bay) when things get tough (as they will at stages). As much as Teague has coached, I'm sure he still has plenty to learn, especially at AFL level.

I agree. He's not there yet, but signs are good that he has the ability to coach at this level. I wouldn't be opposed to a 1 year deal, but no to Roos, IMO.
