Can't see GCS improving TBH, they're going just OK...BUT... I think we haven't seen OUR best yet

I know there is talk of Murphy as the straight swap for the injured O'Brien (Penski notwithstanding) but what about Stocker.

Irrespective of Melbourne's display today I still think we are the worst kicking team in the competition and Stocker I reckon is already our best field kick. If we have a better one I would like to know.

Murphy and Stocker okay but who do you drop after this week's performance?

Newman played a great game despite his usual mistake or two.

Simmo was quiet but you would never drop Simmo.

Plowman? But he appears to be a favoured son.

SPS despite his detractors I believe is motoring along nicely if not great.

Dow? Again motoring along but not doing the spectacular things.

So maybe I answered my question. There isn't room for both Murphy and Stocker. Shame.

Walsh is a pretty good field kick....

I don’t think we will be all getting ahead of our selves or anything. Surely all the losses have drummed out any complacency.

If we don’t win it will just because we aren’t good enough

Might get a pretty good crowd of over 40K to this game, seeing as it’s our home game and surely some of our fans might come out of the woodwork after a win.
However, we’ve been here before, and this game risks being one of those ‘got ahead of ourselves after a week of positive media’ games.
Has happened every time the last few years, and we need to be aware of this and make sure this time it doesn’t happen.

Exactly right.

The proverb, every journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step, is particularly true for us, because over the past 20 years we’ve taken one step backwards after every single, single step.

In keeping with the theme, spent yesterday watching The Puerto Rican Day Parade in downtown NY. Kept an eye out for Pennypacker, Vandelay and Varnsen.

I agree, Walsh is a good kick but Stock is elite.

IMO.

He certainly is. He made some beautiful passes through traffic last week. That one to Cripps was inch perfect. Nobody else on the oval could have marked that, even though there were plenty in the vicinity.

Favoured son? Maybe the fact he shut down Brisbanes in-form forward might have something to do with it.
Yeah, but apart from that, what have the Romans done for us?

If we beat the Dogs next week (and we can), we should jump to 16th.
Doesn't sound like much BUT I would like to finish the year off strongly and avoid the spoon and giving Adelaide the #1pick.
Very important to back up the effort.

Big test to ensure the boys are switched on.

If its the coach, then given our history of delivering more backwards steps than the national square dance convention.. big challenge.

If we back up from last week, no more spoons at Carlton.
