Pulled heart strings and smoked pipedreams looking at these results thus far.

I don't believe it's even a remote possibility, but let's say we go full Messiah Mode again, throw gazillions at Clarkson, and manage to prise him loose in what would be considered one of the biggest, if not the biggest coup in AFL history, and the list is still a bust.

Then what?

Premiership Messiah 1 in Pagan = Sakc
Favourite son in Ratten = Sakc
Premiership Messiah 2 in Malthouse = Sakc
New blood/modern vision in Bolton = Sakc
Premiership Messiah 3 in Clarkson = Sakc

Who gets the sakc then?

I do not understand the fascination with Roos. I think he’s very good at pumping his own tires. He left Melbourne in hardly good shape.

Whoever gets the gig should delist every player over the age of 28 if they know what's good for them.

The Melbourne fans were singing his name after they won 2 finals last year.

Agree.
I think he was well supported in Syd by Lyon and Longmire.
At Melbourne he did no more really the Bolton - ie teach some defensive patterns and then wait for talent to underpin performance. They didn’t make finals until last year and bombed out. And they have a similarly talented list.

I'd take Crazy Vossy as an assistant

Maybe Ross Lyon could be senior coach.

Crazy Rossy, Vossy and Sossy

Roos is a rambling, bumbling former coach who merely talks in footy speak, disguised as leadership vernacular.

So he's Bolton in past tense?

Rather than look at who should we get as coach, I would like people opinion on what we need in a coach.

I don't care whether it is an experienced coach or an assistant that has been in the system for a long time, but I don't want a sam Mitchell type that is still learning to be an assistant let alone a senior coach

Boltons biggest fail in my mind is that we haven't been able to get our top end talent to improve and go to the next level, our kids that have been in our system for 2-3 years still play like they did when they came.

I don't want a strategic coach, its a simple game and the more complicated we make it the more boring it becomes. All kids coming into the afl know how to play, we just need to get them to play harder and stronger for longer and that is where we have failed. Defensive structure are there to hide players that don't want to play harder for longer.

Next coach needs to be ruthless and push the kids to work harder and never accept that they have done enough.

Someone with really thick skin on their backs.

ROOS:
268 games coached
137 wins
129 losses
2 draws
51.5% winning percentage

His record was [REDACTED] up by his 3 years at Melbourne. They had 21 wins in his three seasons in charge.
He took the Swans to the top 4 three times in 9 years.
He took them to the top 8 seven times in 9 years.
He coached Sydney to one flag by a point 14 years ago, and lost one by a point a year later.

Did anybody read Mick Malthouse’s article in the HUN today Spilt the beans on us big time. Sad state of affairs and seemingly no hope for our club and it’s supporters in the near future. The board ‘mafia’ still so involved which is no surprise. What can be done? Andy Maher mentioned these matters a couple weeks back on the Carlton Show.We will never as a club be able to move forward with the times whilst there is shadow government pulling the strings in the background. The new coach is doomed before he even starts. Correct me if I am wrong..only two weeks ago Bolton safe and then gets sacked. Who has got in the ear of our president. If true what Malthouse is saying we are in real trouble.Would love to know more and we are kidding ourselves if we can just move forward to brighter skies. For the first time ever I felt hopeless with where the club is at like never before and we are living in in ga ga land thinking things are going to get better in the short term. Clean the house! At the moment we are irrelevant and a laughing stock.

Malthouse is irrelevant. The board is irrelevant. It all comes down to the coach and the players. It wouldn’t matter if there were six chimpanzees on the board. The way the players kicked it straight back to the opposition meant we would never get close. Were the players thinking about the board game when they are turned the ball over relentlessly?
