I hope the football department salary cap means that won’t be possible.

And if it did happen, those two guys salaries would mean we’d have nothing left to spend on anything else.

The problem with getting Ratten, who I like , is that if he fails again we look like complete and utter fools and we are pretty much done.

Why would we need Roos if we have Lyon ... :lol:

Doubling down on a boring, stifling gameplan?

Really need to take the emotion & romance out of the decision with regard to Ratts.

There were Hawthorn people who wanted Wallace. Wiser heads prevailed & they chose Clarkson

Pay Roos to spend the next 4months designing a football dept and making appointments. He can mentor Judd at the same time.

Maybe?

Roos did exactly this before his Melbourne appointment didn’t he? Said no no no for weeks but also left the door slightly ajar.

Whoever is coming in, I'd hope that Brad Lloyd's days are numbered. If not him, then whichever genius hired Zac @#$%&! Dawson.

There are so many long-term losers in our football department. John Barker, for instance, has been a part of four winning seasons in 25 years of footy.

It'll take a miracle to turn the ship around.

As long as it is not Lyon or Scott

What has Lyon achieved - zero

Style of play - shit

He got his team to 2 GF's......surely that is an achievement!!!!

Not that I'm advocating for Lyon, I don't particularly want him.

However..... of those THREE GFs (not 2),

- he lost one on a flukey little toe poke in the last minute;
- he lost the second one on a flukey bad bounce in the last minute;
- he lost the third one on uncharacteristic bad goal kicking in the 1st qtr by Ballantyne and Fyfe.

So he could quite easily be 3 and 0, or at least 2 and 1....... or even 1 and 2.

A very unlucky coach IMO.

Was I imagining things or did Judd sledge Gary Lyon last night about life choices?

Pig’s arse we cried out for Malthouse. I’d say more people recognised that Ratten’s last year was wrecked by injuries and hedidnt deserve the chop but Kernahan and McKay had a hard on for an experienced coach and were stupid enough to go with Malthouse.

:thumbsup:

Although not quite the language I would use (Don't want to be reminded of Elliot).

He did, and it was well deserved.

Garry Lyon is a @#$%&! goombah.

I suspect that sort of role is exactly what he was selling himself for last night
