Putting personal agendas aside, on balance he's been successful for the Blues.

Under his Presidency Lloyd, Liddle & Russell have been appointed, record membership, long term sponsors locked in at record levels.

Off field club is highly successful.

On field is shizen but with significant upside IF correct decisions made and structures instituted.

See what happens next I guess...

I know for absolute fact he's better when the cameras are off (his family were in business for many years with my old-man's family... and he does know how to get deals done)... but sweet merciful crap, get him some media training or get him (read: keep him) away from the lens.

He's not a great deal better when the cameras are off...and he's had lots of media training. But we've seen no improvement...

Fair. What I mean by that is that he's better suited to getting the job done without fanfare and spotlight. MlG presided over the acquisition of SOS, Liddle, Lloyd and Russell and these are crucial roles at the club. Jury may be out on SOS, but he didn't have a great hand to start with and he's probably hit more than he's missed to be fair. I'm convinced Liddle's already showed his value, and that Russell will have by round 1 2020. Lloyd... I dunno. He'll show his worth in the selection of our next coach - crucial appointmen that I feel he will have a lot of input over.

When it's all said and done, the decision made today was a fair one. There was nothing ruthless about it.
It was fair to Brendon and fair for the club to do it.

I think the biggest mistake the Board made was not identifying the shortcomings of the coach soon enough.

I don't think this was a knee jerk decision

The shortcomings are in List Management but the President is not going to point the finger at one of his best mates.

What if they did Duke, and simply knew it was as yet too soon to pull the trigger?

Maybe they did. But okay - so why would you keep a coach that you knew was out of his depth? There were signs 18 months ago.

That decision on draft night had a lot to do with today's result... imo

If that was the case SOS would be out, not Bolton

Up until the north game I would say he was quite safe. Almost on the verge of stringing some good wins. Then from one game all the positivity disappeared.

Maybe they just prayed things would turn around and didn't want to have to admit they picked the wrong guy... but in the end were forced to.

Not surprised by today's decision but I do feel for Bolton.
He was all class today, hope he finds an assistant role at another club.
Thanks Bolts, it just didn't work out.

He was gone at the Gold Coast game the club gave him every chance to turn this around but his coaching methods have stifled the players strengths and why they were recruited in the first place.
56 list changes - that means 112 players are Shiite. I find this hard to believe.

I am not expecting a dead coach bounce. He nearly destroyed Weitering, simply refused to select McKay until he was dragged kicking and screaming to the table. Who ever comes in has a monumental job just getting this young group playing to their strengths that brought them to the club in the first place

I don't think its that bad. 6 or 8 kids played close to best games vs Collingwood. Not all that long ago.
