When Bolton goes, we will have to come up with a new excuse when we lose evey week.

If we have to go back to ground zero after necking Bolton - it’s going to take another generation.

Nah...Wallsy didn't have a great deal at his disposal that day. Decent enough spine - but the rest not much chop. http://www.blueseum.org/Round+10%2C+1989

We've got some decent talent...talent that needs to be released from the shackles and play some free-flowing footy.

If it's gotta happen, left field idea - Docherty as sideline co-captain/caretaker coach for the rest of the season. Anyone with a pulse can walk in, release the shackles and tell them to run and carry. Could be good experience for him and it couldn't get much worse.

I went to bed last night thinking I could walk in the door and offer to coach and get a better result just by implementing the basics of footy we all learned as juniors.
Footy is a simple game, really. Yes, there are nuances in the mix between man to man and zoning off but basically if you beat your man, you have done your job.

Blue Skies ahead.

The player don't know what they're doing out on the field and it has been obvious for a while now.

The list is better than some here suggest.

The set ups and game plan have stifled them.

Thanks Bondi.

Barker will be unsackable if they put him in as caretaker again.

Little doubt we've gone backwards with better talent than we had 3 or 4 years ago.

Remember Roosy said on OTC he'd be happy to help a club out if they need him but would not return to permanent coaching.

North didn't put Darren Crocker in again - I don't expect Carlton to give John Barker another run at it.

David Teague as caretaker maybe? Has experience coaching a team when he coached NBs. Off memory, don't think Doc rates him but not sure why

The Peter Luck of the football world.

So what happens if we bow to outside pressure and sack Bolton, then figure out that the coach wasn't actually the problem?
(More or less like what happened to Ratten).

The thing is we’ll never be able to prove it. Bolton won’t get another gig so we’ll never be able to prove that he may have been a good coach, similar to Rats.

He was defined by wins and losses.

Clearly a good person unlike the last arsehole. I wish him well. But he just didn’t develop as a coach. And if he didn’t develop the players can’t either.

I put that down to Crock being in a stable, well defined role as Director of Coaching. Part of that role would be selecting the caretaker coach.

Bolton, Barker & Cameron Bruce need to go.
