Did anyone else get an email saying Carlton Captains Clubs members cannot use our rooms again (same as round 1) because of previous arrangements between Collingwood and the MCG?
What a joke. It is our home game and members cannot use the social club rooms because the away team's members will be using them.

Where is the pre-match for Carlton Captains Clubs members normally held at each of MCG and Marvel?

No, Harmes ran him down in '79 - he was a metre and a half beyond the boundary between the road and the footpath.

kez I got an email saying that the Hassett, Ryder and Miller rooms are open for Legends Lounge members from 12pm. I assume the Captains Club would have the same rooms? I used those as a Captains Club member in previous years but not sure how it works with the upgrades this year.

My email said the following;

Member Zone seating bays M54-57 and M1.

Room Access

Unfortunately the Yarra Park room is unavailable for round 8 due to the pre-existing agreement with Collingwood and the MCG.

Then goes on to say that in lieu of not having access to the Yarra Park room for our round 1 and 8 home games , join us for an exclusive Captains Club open training session on Saturday May 25th.
Hear from members of the football department, get photos with premiership trophies and watch training. Followed by photo and autograph opportunities with the players.
RSVP by May 23rd.

No mention of any other rooms that can be used.

Yeah I still think that we need another big body around to help Cripps, Setterfied or Kennedy need to come in.

Agree + dump Dow and O'Brien. Forget about their draft status and look at their performances. Both are soft as butter & don't run hard enough offensively or defensively. Dow regularly delivers 'hospital handballs' because he is clueless to the fact that the player he is handballing to is already under the hammer. No football brain or vision and can't mark or kick for shit. If they were both drafted in the 40's, based upon their performances, would they be in the team at the moment ? NO Stop making excuses for and rewarding incompetence or another wooden spoon is on the way. REALITY THERAPY NEEDS TO KICK IN AT SOME STAGE. If you have access to the North Melbourne game footage look at it carefully and tell me that I am wrong.

It would be nice if they sat Murphy until he provides the effort required for our club. I'd rather lose by an extra four goals playing a kid prepared to make the effort that a bloke who has coasted the last 100 games because he knows he won't be dropped because 'experience'.

Geez tell us what you really think ! I agree that both have areas to work on, but they are both promising, obviously Dow ahead of LOB. Paddy's explosiveness from the contest is good though, and don't forget he's been asked to virtually be our no.2 on baller from day 1, with Murphy being so poor and insipid. He's addressing his kicking issues by asking for specialist coaching, so good on him for taking ownership of that issue. LOB will be a lot better when he is strong either not to be 360'd every time he's tackled.

We gotta give these two guys a good shot, and we will. We need to get some more senior bods on the park to give them a chop out. How many 19-20yo mids do the Pies have running around ?

Yes the skinny youngsters need to be protected and mentored but it takes times to attract the appropriate personal. Rockliff was the one we should have chased hard. Let’s hope another similar type is available this trade period.

You can’t remove Willo, he is needed for balance in the backline.

I agree with this except Williamson who stays in IMO. We will have to choose b/w Kennedy & Setterfield.

Do we really need Goddard? Unless we drop Plow or Marchy we're already top heavy in the back half. Especially if Cox doesn't play.

Williamson is not quite ready ... I thought he looked underdone ... needs a few weeks with Northern Blues.

We probably don't need Goddard but I suspect he will be selected if Jones is not available.

He looked like he had really lost some upper body condition as well - will need a further pre-season in the gym to catch up there as well.

the ludicrous vfl fixture means the northern blues will have their second bye in 5 weeks this week
maybe this will mean willo stays
