The failure of Kennedy to step up has affected our engine room.

Crippa is being sat on now and our other mids are still developing.

Can't understand why Jack isn't given more inside mid time as he's got the build and stamina now.

Get Jack in the midfield and free up space for Harry and Charlie inside 50.

I think Jack should be eyeing off Marchbanks spot.

Poor Bolts. List management and lady luck hasnt helped him. I bet he never expected to be coach of team fielding 14 players with less than 50 games.

We've set Bolton up to fail due to the demographic of our list. No Simpson, Kreuzer, Docherty, McGovern and Newman makes up a quarter of a side that is short on senior talent.

We shouldn't go down the path of chasing another super coach or untried coach who will benefit once our youth come of age. It will happen.

Don't start me on the belief that Ratten should come back.

Just 2 small changes but..

1. maybe he should make some moves of utilising bigger bodies (Ed, Murph, Kennedy) in the midfield / side and try to help the kids from getting smashed
2. Stop being so pig headed and keep playing the stupid zone and spare player behind the ball while we are getting smashed in the clearances.

IMO

I definitely agree with the 1st suggestion. If Kreuzer can't be there as another big-bodied clearance player, then get Ed in there for the week's he's not available. There will still be plenty of opportunities for Dow, SPS, etc. to develop as midfielders.

A statement needs to be made and Murphy unfortunately deserves to be dropped. Probably will not happen.

Ed does his best tagging and the woods have plenty to tag.

Bring in bigger bodies Kennedy and Setterfield. Levi is one who goes. Liam through injury?

No more talls unless it is Kreuzer please.

Kreuzer is arguably our most important player. At worst narrowly behind Cripps. But you could argue Cripps doesn't get a look in unless MK plays. It starts with the ruck. Then the midfield.

Agreed playing Ed outside the square has hurt us. I understand a young midfield need to learn to fend for themselves but totally throwing them to the wolves, esp last week when even Blind Freddy could see Norf would throw the kitchen sink at us seems to be taking things a bit too far.

Stats in the papers today also suggest playing so many talls has robbed us of any chance of applying forward pressure. Mind you I'm fully aware our small forwards are terribly average.

But for me the biggest issue all year has been our inconsistency at hunting the ball in the guts. We've looked our best this year When SPS goes and gets the ball . But it doesn't happen every week. And I'm not blaming SPS. I blame the coach for this. There have been games where SPS has barely seen the middle of the ground. And there's no Kennedy in there. Cripps needs support. Again Blind Freddy can see this. The absence of another ball hunter inside has killed us many times this year. Tactically, in this regard BB & Co have a lot to answer for in my view.

Last week nobody wanted to go and get the ball at stoppages. I mean WTF is the plan?? All stand back and spectate? Where's the Plan B? (if Cripps isn't getting a look in?). This is a coaching issue.

Not everyone kills it in the 2s. Some players get the same amount, even more touches in the 1s.

I suspect he is one of those players.

Just play him.

Yeah lets play Kym Lebois too whilst we’re at it. He seems like a “1’s” type player as well.

I reckon that argument has merit when talking about forwards and - to an extent - defenders and outside mids. VFL form isn’t everything. But a supposedly AFL-caliber inside midfielder should dominate in the VFL.

For what it’s worth, I’ve seen 6 of the last 8 VFL quarters and I wouldn’t pick Kennedy at the moment. I wouldn’t play him until he starts getting more uncontested marks. A goal or two a game wouldn’t hurt either. He is good but not AFL elite at the stoppages and is offering us nothing on the spread. See Adam Bentick. Cripps became elite when he improved his running power and added an outside game to his excellent clearance work.

I would be demanding improvement in certain KPIs from Kennedy before selecting him. In the long run it might be better for him. Let him get his confidence and fitness to the next level before throwing him back into the AFL. We played him last year when he wasn’t ready and I reckon it set him back.

Kennedy was listed in the best list for the last match. The rumor circulating was that he was being kept out because of his sending a like to Israel Folau's post.

NORTHERN BLUES 2.4 5.8 6.12 12.17 (89)
NORTH MELBOURNE 3.3 4.5 7.8 7.10 (52)

GOALS
Northern Blues: Wheeler 3, Kerr 2, Fasolo, Fisher, Keppel,. Lang, Lobbe, Palmer, Wilson

BESTS
Northern Blues: Goddard, Kennedy, Setterfield,

Josh Fraser also highlighted him in his comments.

I reckon he will be in the Carlton team this week along with Setterfield.

I have no idea if he was sanctioned about liking the tweet, but I do know he has had little continuity in his footy due to injuries.

Running out of excuses for Kennedy
Used pick 28 to get him
Did have 16 and 40 but traded those pick
to the dogs for 28
SOS thought he was worth a pick 13 as a junior

One things for certain
He won’t win the Stawell Gift

Ed Richards and Charlie Constable would have been handy.

Higgins
Ryan
McCartin
Petrucelle
Worpel

O’ Brien may turn out alright but he needs a year
in the twos
It was a good idea to get rid of Gibbs
as he has been found out a bit at the Crows for
being a lazy player

Should of done it a year earlier when we had
the chance and sent Murphy there as well
One of those family package deals

So far pick 10 and 16 haven’t offered much

This is where Bolton made the mistake though. As much as we all like Williamson, he wasn’t and isn’t ready. He plays favourites. He now needs to play the kid. Just stuffed it up. Williamson needed to spend at least a month in the VFL.
