Any word on how Kreuzer went in the VFL intra club match (I think it was today?)?

I don’t think we will win.

We are still comfortably the worst side in the competition, and that includes Gold Coast.

I also think we have improved and need to stay the course, which just shows you how far back we are coming from.

We have been comprehensively beaten in the ruck three weeks in a row in a new era where centre clearances lead to scoring opportunities.
GCS have Witts, who is one of the best rucks in the comp. We will get flogged in the centre unless our mids can rove to Witts instead of Lobbe. Can we play Levi as first ruck and have Harry as a backup? It won't make a difference in the middle but he can at least mark the footy.

This is a line in the sand game but they routinely beat us and next week I think it will happen again.

We need to bring Garlett back in for h is pace and play him forward but it won't happen because it will look like it was a mistake to drop him in the first place. LOB was a WOFTAM today and shouldn't get a game next week. Gibbons hasn't adjusted to the pace and looks like another Jordan Doering who was a sensational VFL player but that was it. Kennedy might be the one to replace him.
Jack for McGovern.

Play Harry out of the square and tell him to lead at the ball carrier. Tell the ball carrier to kick it to a lead instead of to a three on one pack.

I am not at all confident we can knock them over with the way we play.

If Bolts had been coaching the same team for 4 years I would understand the calls for his sacking. But he has a completely new squad.

Win, lose or draw next week he is not going to be sacked.

If by the end of the season we are not showing signs of coming together as a group (and have had a half decent run with injuries), I would consider replacing him at that point.

Until then, I suggest everyone sit back and enjoy the roller coaster ride.

How dare you post rationally!

To climb the ladder we have to improve more than those in the same group as as improve.
Improvement is relative.

I’ll be there. If you can get to Emerald Lakes for the function, say hi.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Charlie back in for this game.

Hope you're right. Would love to see Cunningham make an early return as well.

Absolutely no chance Bolton will get sacked 4 games in to the season. Regardless of if we lose against Gold Coast.

It’s not about being 4 games into the season, it’s about being 4 seasons into his tenure.

I know we’ve turned the list over but this list is underperforming. From round 14 2017 to round 3 2019 we’ve won 3 games, by 7, 13 and 35 points. We’ve lost as many games by 100 points as we’ve won in the same time.

In the first couple of years we had a system and were able to win a few against the odds, I don’t know what the game plan is anymore.

He has to be running out of time

You can’t turn over 50 odd players in 5 years and expect consistency, it’s just not going to happen. Yes he’s been there for 3 years but he’s been left with an extremely inexperienced list after sos has ripped the list apart. We all want to see improvement but with such a young list it takes time.

I get the list changes but I don’t see any system to the way we play.

This is the biggest issue for me

Our ball movement is abysmal

I can accept losing when there are signs of good transition play and higher scoring

But his ultra defensive style at the start of his tenure with us has not progressed and our play is boring and stagnant

I said this a while ago but due to our numerous losses over the last four years, there would be a lack of belief among the playing group

I don't Bolton will survive beyond this year

On that first aspect we won the centre clearances 16-11 and the overall clearance 44-37. That's the figure that matters there.

Rabble with some talent but no team mindset, and a coach that has lost 32 of the last 35 games.

Everyone will say be patient, don’t be the old Carlton who just sacked blokes..

You know what the old Carlton won. We didn’t constantly bang on about green shoots and pine for number one draft picks.

We were ruthless.

The game is only about winning. There is nothing else in footy at the elite level.

This.

The old Carlton sakced coaches. The old Carlton won matches.

The new Carlton won't sakc coaches. The new Carlton can't win matches.

Yeah, sacking Brittain, Pagan, Ratten & Malthouse really turned things around for us.

Can't accept 3 wins from 35 matches either.

And, yes, sacking Pagan did turn things around. Went to dead set sit to finals 2 years later. Our issues is picking the wrong coaches. Two stubborn old dinosaurs who couldn't move with the times, and two coaches who had played the same number of AFL games as the rest of us on here....none. There was one coach who did do well though, young, had played, had coached his own side that did a good job for the only period since 2001.
