Rival clubs are set to furiously oppose the pre-draft access to state players given they would have wasted 12 months scouting players they will no longer be able to secure.

This argument does my head in. I don't think anyone is being denied access to anything.... it's just around priority.

Scott is a moron, pushing this rubbish narrative that Carlton fell down the ladder by design. Waite, Henderson, Yarran and Bell walked, Robinson and Garlett were off the rails and 'the champ' did his knee. The first year we went to the draft and began our 'reset' we were already on the bottom.

Life must be hard, being gifted a premiership team with a huge home ground advantage at a ground funded by the taxpayer and the ability to cherry pick the best talent from weaker clubs year after year. Can't wait for these pricks to fall off the edge of a cliff.

If the whinging clubs gave done there homework then they’re only going to miss out on 4 players.

There might be something happening at these "top" clubs that losing the choice of a possible 4 "state level" players will bring them to their knees. Because a monetary excuse is the last excuse when you have nothing else that is valid, other than "It's just not fair mummy".

He is 25 and think Tom Bell physique but with skill.

The problem of who gets a priority pick would be to instead allow struggling clubs $200K more in their caps for 1, 2 or 3 years. That would give them the ability to A) Hold on to players and B) bring in free agents on front-loaded contracts.

Do clubs agree among themselves what order they're going to select players in the draft, to avoid wasting time and money on redundant scouting? Apparently, anything less would be grossly unfair. It's true, many talented person agrees, believe me.

Lots of talk on different forums and chat groups seem to have normalised around a PP @ 11 (12 after Lynch compo)...
