Confidence is the thing.

A coach can't really improve players' confidence in quite the same way that winning games can.

Hopefully we can get through the GWS game okay and then finish the season with some momentum to carry us into next year.

Nah! Let's knock them suckers off and make it two in a row!

Agree totally, but I'd still call that getting through the GWS game okay.

I admire the optimism. I'm a big fan of what we're doing but if anyone thinks we can decide whether we will win or lose this game, they're keener than me.
Let's accept that GWS are playing for a top 4 spot, they're far better off for personnel at the moment and a 4 quarter effort from our boys will be a good outcome.
Don't get too high, don't get too low.

I'm not expecting, or even hoping, we will beat GWS. But I wouldn't knock it back.

We actually beat them last year. Not expecting a repeat of course as long as there's effort and a game plan that suits us like the last 3/4 qtrs of last week. I've knocked Bolts alot but i'll give him credit for changing the game plan on the run last week producing a result completely opposite to the first qtr. We importantly got to see the best of our young talent, and some of our older talent too rather than seeing them look like a confused mess. What a difference, a 7 goal qtr and 10 individual goalkickers. Can't remember when that last happened.

Look at Geelong. Attacked fire with fire.

Re coaching staff, Ratts has given notice at the Hawks. Could be handy as an assistant if BB doesn't feel the pressure.

If he's given notice he's probably got a job elsewhere already.

I know there's speculation we are turning over our staff at years end but there's a few other under performing teams out there.

Happy for Ratts to keep developing with another club
I'm confident he'll end up at Carlton one day again....this time, so much better prepared
Similar thoughts about Voss

Unfortunately, I’m hearing Ratts to Saints. I’d love to see the champ back with us.

Same. Underappreciated at TC, and the style of footy he brought was a lot of fun to watch.

IMHO was made a scape goat and deserved better from us. Had just as many injuries to key critical players in his last year as we have this year. That decision still annoys me.

I love Ratts, and want him back at the club, but he was a key player in that 2007-2015 period when our club completely blew its opportunity to re-establish itself. He is not entirely to blame by any means, but he was the wrong choice as senior coach. Just like Malthouse & Pagan were.

Hate to say it, but I agree.

Given the Malthouse debacle we do tend to look back on the Ratts years with rose-coloured glasses. But he was part of that system that sent us on the path we’re trying to crawl out of.

Don and Sue.............two blokes who get it.I see it EXACTLY as you two guys see it.None of the three coaches were to blame entirely.Truth be known you could point the finger at a heap of people. But its time to move on.

That cannot happen in the real world!
