No thanks. Might be the most experienced available, but doesn't mean he's best man for the job. Josh Mahoney for mine.

I don't really know much about either but they would both be coming from clubs building from the ground up, so it could only be a good thing I guess.
Except Gubby, did get suspended and I'm not sure if we want to be labelled with another tag.

We did it with Trigg and he had a tag.

Made no difference.

I dont know about either of the abovementioned prospects.
I know my Demons mates love Josh.

I figure the connection with SOS from their GWS days will carry some weight.

I'd be more than happy with Josh Mahoney as well (just not Dan Richardson please)

That's true Bondiblue.

Looks like he might already be a shoe in with the SOS connection, especially seeing as thought he "Runs" the club.

to get us competing in the top 6

Fair enough.

That should be achievable as our kids grow, plus a few years to bolt on a couple of FA and Trades.

I expect Top 8 by 2020.
I expect Top 4 bt 2021

I'm still expecting 20 by 2020, that's what our last president with some decent football acumen told me.

So what.

We as a club were suspended/penalised years ago. Our previous CEO was suspended. Tag this or that let's just get the best available and if it is Allan then so be it.

This is a critical appointment for the CFC.

I've heard it is likely to be Chris Bond from Freo (and us)

Because Freo are doing so well?
And Ross is such an inspirational coach?

As far as assistant coaches go, according to the AFL website

Sam Mitchell is packing his bags in the west and coming home. Looking for a job.

Blake Caracella Tigers mid coach has not come to terms on a new contract.

Either of these guys would be a great get. Especially Caracella who has the runs on the board.

Sticks was a great player, but off the field he was a meathead.

football acumen, as in running a football team, less than running a business. like, do you really care how well our marketing department is going? how many memberships we're piling into the coffers (like sure, it helps the club) ... or do you as a fan, prefer to win games of footy?

right now the current mob fly their little flag about all of their corporate and marketing achievements. meanwhile our 3 footy teams are in last or in the basement on the ladder. all of them!

that seems overly imbalanced to me. especially when it was revealed we had the lowest spend in the entire league on footy departments.

exactly. if we're keeping bolton, this offseason should be about surrounding him with quality. no expense spared.

and then we review our development strategy and then we pump money into getting excellent medical staff and better physios. the current mob are an in over their heads.

I doubt he's 'looking' for a job. You wouldn't up stumps and move across the country with your family unless there are a couple of offers already on the table.

That would be ideal, and makes sense.

Mitchell and Bolton were together for 5 years at Hawks.
Probably a strong relationship.

Caracella would be amazing from what we hear and read about him.

Come on Carlton, lets get more talent through the door.

I read that this week too. (sorry cant recall the source)

And, I was shocked because I thought we were spending plenty in the footy department.

I'm not happy about that either

Clearly a good week on the track this week as the boys played with more confidence and purpose. Well done Bolts and the team.

Although, lets not get carried away as we didn't beat much, I am happy for him. He seems like a nice bloke. Definitely relieve some of the pressure on him.

credit to bolton for changing to man on after the first. I wish we'd play like that more often. running and taking the game on. players were ballhawking in close, and then streaming forward as fast as any other team in the comp once GC turned it over.

what that must do for the confidence of these kids like; SPS, Dow, LOB, Kennedy etc and when they'd spread hard, they had options upfield with Harry and Charlie. Polson was great crumbing and applying tackling pressure in the forward 50. just great to watch.

I understand why BB wants to play the zoning structure – it stands up in finals footy & wins flags when applied right. But like Brown said last night, that system relies on experienced players and a level of communication and trust that we are years away from having. when we keep it simple, we're great fun to watch.
