is the new logo at the top of carltonfc.com.au the official new logo? ive noticed on the afl website that the small logo at the top which provides a link to our page is also changed to the new one. is this a sign of times ahead? are we looking to the future rather than the past?

No offence to the person that created it but imo it's a shocker.

You'd bloody well hope not. isnt it just a marketing thing to match the membership campaign for next year?

If you've been at the Club there doesn't seem to have been a bigger change in the foyer. I reckon its just a short term thing.

I hope.

:| I like the old one better. I noticed the change on the AFL website, and the absence of the logo you posted, on the CFC site too.

And if you're right, and that's the best idea the club came up with of looking to the future, heads need to roll

Would a permanent change have to be put to members or could it just be approved by the Board?

I think the new marketing campaign is a bit odd "Something Blue" and I don't think the club logo should be changed at all!!!!!!! So they sould leave it alone.
Besides I just got a temporary tattoo in Bali of the old logo and now it's sooo five minutes ago.

I noticed the polos that the new boys were wearing at the press conference had the new logo on them, i wonder if this will extend to the jumper?

It will. And I for one like it. I think it is a good cross between our old logo and our new one. Very similar to the one we wore for the final OO game - which everyone seemed to like. Good move marketing department!

Maybe the club is getting us used to it so it can adorn our eventual away jumper?

The new logo is progressive and doesn't look out-of-date the way the old one does now.

Change is sometimes hard to accept, but would anyone like the old version if it was introduced today?

Tradition is an anchor most of the time, and this is a prime example.

I don't mind the new logo that will apparently be used for 2006 in terms of it having less harsh lines and angles - smoother layout than the present one - maybe a bit bolder?

But......every time i see what i consider is the proper guernsey - the one worn from 1920's up to 1997 my heart melts.

I will go to every heritage round match just to see the proper guernsey... but i guess i can put up with either of the new ones.

Why not give the new new one a try? i don't think the1998-2005 one looks that cool anyway... it is acceptable but i just could never imagine big nick or doull/sticks or any of the stars wearing that guernsey... the logo is too small.

Just had a look at the afl site.

They have the 'club logo' for each club as a link along the top of the page.

Carlton used to have the traditional shield up there.

Now it has been changed to a solid blue block with the new monogram on it.

Looks like the shield is gone.

the new logo is shite. We are just lucky that we have by far and away the best jumper in the competition and not even some coked up marketing flower can stuff that up.

Give me the old one any day. Some things just shouldn't be changed.
