1. Carlton must get Ollie Wines to help Cripps ... I tend to agree.
2. GC must get a priority pick if Lynch leaves ... laughable. (if he is talking compensation + priority pick)

I cannot see how Brisbane and GC won't get a PP. The AFL are under pressure to do anything and everything to help football in QLD.

Merge them to become the Brisbane Lions and pretend the GC thing never happened.
If we finish with <= 4 wins give us an extra pick at the end of the first round.

Given all that's been said publicly by Bolton and Liddle re our list I'll be amazed if we still have our first pick on draft night.
If it's Wines, I'm all for it.

Put Wines, Guthrie, Wallis, Docherty, Williamson, Marchbank, Pickett in the side and it's a new ball game. It's very do-able.

Need to go down or follow the Golden State Warrior approach (which I think we're doing) . No one wanted to know them 8-9 years ago ...... they couldn't even make a playoff game. They too went to the draft path and got Curry pick 7 (2009), Clay Thompson pick 11 (2011) and Draymond Green pick 35 (2012) and built a team around them which included Andrew Bogut. The rest is history ..... even Kevin Durant signed on 2 years ago so he could win himself a championship. Like their owner said today ....... you have to dream first.

As for Wines ..... need to get Andrew Walker to talk to him. I think they come from the same town.

We've got our young base for the next 10-12 years.

It's now time to support them with elite ready-made players that turn close losses into wins.

It's time for trading/free agency to get this club up the ladder again.

Agree with your statement about trading/FA but we are not a destination club and will struggle to attract quality players. Until we stop being woeful, the situation won't change.

We need to keep the early pick....any cause for optimism of late has come through players we've drafted (fisher, cripps, curnow, dow etc...) We need to continue down this road.

Wines is a top 10 pick proven commodity with 10 more years in him. It's a no-brainer.

i like wines but not for our first pick this year & definitely not for a prospect like Lukosius if we end up with pick 1
wines is 24 years of age next season and the way he plays he'll have played his best footy by 30

Collingwood desperately need a decent key forward.
Assuming they miss out on Lynch maybe a possible deal would be pick #1 for DeGoey and the Pies first round selection (assuming they finish mid table).

From what I’ve heard we’re interested in a couple from GWS one from Melbourne and one from the Hawks ...

We won’t have pick 1, so it won’t be an issue :-)

Wines is worth pick 2 though, plus something else our way.

I understand Adam Cerra recently rejected a contract extension offered to him by the Dockers.
If he continues today's form against the Crows (30 poss's) then I would consider offering pick #1 for him. Freo badly need a key forward (McCarthy hasn't worked out) and they might see Cerra as flight risk.

How on earth did we select Dow ahead of Cerra? It could really come back and haunt us.
I know that physics and rate of development in youngsters vary.
But wow Cerra can play.
