I'd like to mention Dale Thomas, has turned into a real club man, seems to have genuine passion which is honourable and contagious

Completely agree. After his first 3 years at the club it would have been easy to throw in the towel and call it quits, especially with the club at the bottom of the ladder. But he has shown real heart and is playing the best footy he has since he’s been here. With the injuries we have, especially to Docherty, he’s been an invaluable steady head down back. Hats off daisy, you’re sticking it up a lot of people who wrote you off

Was in Adelaide to watch our horse run in the Derby....he came 7th in a gutsy run but this made my day. Spent a lot of time watching the game on any available screen

Intensity levels were up all day. Tackled with purpose for once, and this is such a key to us winning games at the moment. Backline were great as a unit, with Sir Liam killing off Manu marking contests and Daisy Thomas was really good I must say :donk: worked his butt off and showed great leadership.

Crippa the Colossus and Ed were superb all day. Tractor was huge........his tackles were bone crunching. Kerridge is no star but is a big body and can take a congested mark. Lamb a very good game, and not just the pest stuff....he created a lot of opportunities.

But it was the continued growth in our kids that excited me the most. Fisher, Big H (he is very nimble at times for a 200cm+ monster and boy is he a superb kick for goal  ), Windscreens and Dow are getting better with game time and look like delivering on thier draft ranking.

Murph and Marchbank back next week it seems. Add Williamson and Pickett and we will test a few sides IMHO.

SPS gave us glimpses and did run straighter at the pill today, but he can give us so much more if he starts to take them on more.....he has elite evasive skills and speed if he chose to use it.

Charlie Curnow clearly pushed the umpire, almost protectively away from a mild confrontation. But he did lightly push him. If May is cited then both Curnows can most likely expect to be busy on Tuesday night.

When did Charlie push the umpire?

He didn't. The umpire got too close to a tussle Charlie had with a * player and he appeared to brush the ump trying to balance himself.

from an Essendon* fan on the AFL's facebook thread about the game. it's sound analysis, to be fair.

Quote:
Every game Carlton are content to lose by a few goals and not even try but against Essendon* they will play like their lives depend on it, it's pathetic

No need to worry then. Common sense will prevail and he will get multiple weeks.

Nah. No way Charlie will get anything. Maybe a fine for Ed? He looks like he is patting the ump like a fond friend. could be fun if all the players start patting umpires in protest. Like, ALL the players. Then what?
Ladies and gentleman there will be no football this week as all players are banned. However we have a fabulous revue show for you from the umps. There will be country AND western.

If Charlie goes it just opens up an opportunity for Kerr.

You can't even compare the Ed one to fatty Hawkins. One was a push the other was a slight brush. Having said that we can expect the same punishment or worse.
