Playing Silvagni instead of a midfielder is killing us.

As is playing both Kennedy and SPS who need to build some fitness and form at VFL level.

We simply pick the wrong structured side. We get no run out of defence because we are too tall there.

I agree that we always go to tall in defence. Bringing in Marchbank means one of the talls in defence should go out. Then we have Weitering coming back, surely we can’t have all of him Marchbank, jones and Rowe in the same team.

Out of the 4, Jones has to be the first to go

Drop the ball into your teammate's hands - play on, great hands Dogs, SLICK!
Sink to your knees, slide the neck into the tackler's arm - free kick, high tackle
Hump the ground like a toddler throwing a tantrum - ball up, no prior.

@#$%&!. OFF. AFL.

Excellent summary. How have they over complicated such a simple rule? Prior opportunity and correct disposal. It's not difficult.

The game is ruined. Does not encourage anyone to make the play.

the thing for me is still the pressure. Almost every other game I see the ball is s hot. But we have no pace or pressure - with the exception of fish, simmo and cripps and jones and maybe marchbank I just don't see anyone going flat out for the ball. or running back when the take a mark (although charlie tries to play on) or even being active when on the mark. it is like we are simply relying on our talls to just play kick to kick. We need at least one more small forward. Wright can find the goals but looks like he is just having a laugh.... Even if we win this (and it looks very unlikely) any other team would kill us.

Yeah you see it with the best teams of recent years. Crazy intensity and full on defensive pressure. We're nowhere near that level.

Need more experience and a settled side to get that happening.

We are a slow, lumbering, tall side. No other way to describe it. Pickett out. Fisher is the only one with any wheels. Slow, tall, and below average skills.

The opposite to the modern side.

now tanking is something we are good at!

getting totally depressed and despondant and seeking joy in Essendon* losses because we have so little hope of an actual carlton win is what we are good at.

I said all I wanted was a long, accurate, elite kick, and Kerridge delivered.

So I can go home (stay home) happy. Thanks, Sam.

Cripps had Kerridge all alone in the middle of the ground and went the handball to Thomas for a turnover.
Not his best decision for the night.
Now we have a shot for goal by the Dogs.

Kennedy may be lacking form and fitness, but there are going to be a lot of people eating humble pie. Kid can play

Simpson's foot passing kills us.
