Understand what you are saying Sue and generally agree that this is an exciting list but with all that talent and potential how do you explain yesterday's performance and you can understand why some of us after the ineptitude of yesterday would be disappointed with the performance and would not be looking forward to next week against the Pies

I definitely can understand it Frank. But remember that most of the current players and coaching staff were not part of the failures of the past. We have endured 17 years of pain but I think we should not be letting it blacken our view of this group, over half of which yesterday have played less than 50 games. Dow was 3 years old when we were done for salary cap breaches!

2016 was ‘ground zero’ for me. We have played 46 games under Bolts. We haven’t won many of them but I am prouder to be a Carlton supporter than I was from 2002-2015, which were absolutely wasted years. By the end of 2018, we will only have 4 or 5 players on our list who were there before Bolts arrived. Three years to turn over an entire list is incredible and speaks to exactly how far back we are coming from.

A complete youth focused rebuild (which we have never done before) never moves forward in a linear movement. I was always expecting a tough year. 3 of the top 4 in our B&F did not play yesterday. A team that only won 6 games for the season can’t afford to lose that talent. Add the fact that we are tinkering with our game style and have new line coaches, and it doesn’t surprise me at all that we’re lacking cohesion and consistency at the moment.

I’m far from happy about it, but I am not surprised by it.

please refrain from using logic and common sense

In: Kennedy, Kreuzer
Out: O’Shea, Byrne

If Kennedy isn’t fit then put Jack in for O’Shea. Jack gives 100% every week like O’Shea but unlike O’Shea can actually kick the ball.

If Kreuzer isn’t fit than put Phillips in as we need Casboult in the forward line

There was a lot of the Blues rd 1 about the Pies this week......honourable 3-4 goal loss against a top 3 team....leading in the last Q, with only two on the bench for half a game. So hopefully the form line continues and we towel them up on Friday

Getting Kreuz and hopefully Kennedy back will make a huge difference. O'Shea and Polson make way for them (don't mind Polson but he is a bit small and doesn't look ready just yet for the big time).

I'd play JW down back on a second tall forward and leave him there. If he can't cut it then needs NB time to find form and confidence. Don't like seeing no.1 draft picks in the Magoos but can't have him playing this poorly for much longer.

Reckon we're missing Pickett more than most realise, and Willo and Lang are automatic INs when ready. Dow is a ripper but 18yo in his first year, so just happy to watch the small things for now.

We will get smashed.
Start looking at TAC to see what kids are available to bring to the club and destroy

The only predictable thing about this game is it won't be a very high standard

In - Kruez and Kennedy
Out - Byrne (inj) Polson

If Byrne is okay then Lamb for a rest. Just not doing enough. Weitering gets a reprieve this week but only just.

Jones isn’t needed. Let Weitering take the key defensive role and develop.

Sarcasm apart unfortunately I have to agree, its time for browsing TAC in case one was't aware either of Jack Lukosius or Max King please, will resolve quite a few of our problems in one masterstroke.

Collingwood will lose Broomhead & Moore, but probably regain Cox and Reid.

Given that he came into the side for whatever reason, I cannot see the sense in dropping Polson.

Giving him more consecutive AFL minutes is the right call (before he gets delisted and we're all scratching our heads wondering why he wasn't given opportunities)

I'm ok with Weitering staying but what does, 'only just' mean-it's so subjective. Weitering has been poor for a long time

I'm hoping that Polson stays in, 'only just'

I thought Byrne was ok. One of few who tried to break the lines and move the ball quickly.

I’m guessing he came into the side to replace the injured Kennedy. Ipso-facto if Kennedy is back Polson may get squeezed.

As for Weiters, it was 2 weeks ago he was extremely good against the Hawks. Is that a along time?

Time is so relative.

Polson came in to replace Kruezer...now there's like 4 like.

Or was that O'Shea for Silvagni or was that Cunningham for Silvagni or was that Cunningham for Kennedy. Sides and structures are interchangeable

And on the topic of Weitering, if you want to weight 1 JLT game against 24 AFL games, that's your perorgative.

For mine, Weitering has continued where he left last year (in the real season, not the practice matches).
His 'second year blues' unfortunately are showing no signs of abating. Give him a spell to get his form/confidnece/whatever back

Have the AFL allowed us to have 3 ins for 2 outs?
Part of the equalisation commitment
