Season review: Carlton

ONCE highly rated former Giant Kristian Jaksch has been delisted by Carlton.

Jaksch, 22, was told his fate at an exit meeting on Thursday afternoon.

He was taken at pick 12 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft by the Giants and played just seven games for the AFL's newest franchise.

In a costly trade, Carlton gave up pick seven to secure Jaksch in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft, as part of a deal that also brought midfielder Mark Whiley to Ikon Park.

Well there's an ambush I wasn't expecting

Thank god we don't have to put up with another season of deluded KJ fans.

How exciting! Finally you can feel a sense of superiority over the people on TC who supported a player more than you did.
You can pump out your chest and falsely gain a pathetic sense of strength or vindication for once in your life. Congratulations.
You must have been wetting your pants with excitement waiting for this day to come.
What a big day ahead for Crippa!

Oh it was a little more light hearted than that. You're overthinking it BV. Just couldn't understand why so many people were so convinced it was a big conspiracy theory against KJ and that he deserved a game when the entire club and match committee thought he didn't deserve a game. We couldn't trade him so clearly 17 other clubs also thought this 22 year old KPP doesn't deserve a game.

But still my words were a bit harsh and callus to a bloke who lived his dream and made millions. If I had my time again I'd probably say it in a lot nicer way. But yeah you are overstating my feelings on the matter for sure. I've actually never said a single bad word about KJ previously or actually in the post you have quoted. I've actually said many times I hoped he'd get a game.

Ps: why is it ok for you to be a bully and personally attack an individual with some pretty aggressive criticism but it's not ok for me to say I'm glad we don't have to debate KJs non selection each week? Take a look back at my posts. I've supported and backed the MCS decision on KJ every week while others critisise the club endlessly about it. I'm not the villain here.

The more I think about this the more annoyed I am getting. So I'm the bad bloke am I BV? I'm the bad bloke for agreeing and supporting the club the whole season re their selections? I'm the bad bloke because I got sick of seeing people complain and critisise the club am I? I'm the bloke who deserves your aggression?

There was no need for the cheap shot in the first place. He wasn't up to it. Some posters were hoping for the clubs sake he could come on but he didn't.
Your response to him being delisted was to have a go at the "deluded fans" who wanted to see him succeed.

I don't understand the approach. He's gone. He obviously wasn't in their plans. IMO we should wish all departing players good luck and look to the future IMO.
I fail to see the need for comments like yours. It was petty and provocative. And then when someone bites back you want to play the victim. :?

I apologise if it was overly aggressive but I don't understand the need for the post in the first place. He's gone. We should move on IMO and not use it as an opportunity to have a go at the posters who supported him.

I feel totally dudded by KJ.
I was hoping he'd make it, right up to the very end, because I witnessed his demolition of Waite in Sydney, and he looked like a KP of the future to me at 19yo.
I was genuinely optimistic when we got him.

The reasons he didn't make it at Carlton will come out in the wash.

All we have to go by now is rumours that he lacked motivation and drive, and he liked to get on the sauce on weekends.
Wealso know the MC wouldn't pick him ahead of others for reasons not made public.
It seems to me the rumours could be close to the mark.

All he wanted was to get to Melbourne.
Carlton was the vehicle to do so whilst fleecing us a cool $1M...and he didn't have to try.

It isn't about deluded Carlton fans as we are innocent believers.
The issue is how a 20yo could pull the wool over our eyes when the experienced Malthouse the motivator was in charge.

I always had hope that KJ would be able to use his undeniable talent but for whatever reason that never came to fruition.

One thing I won't miss is the TC discussions being overtaken by incessant KJ arguments.

But I am sure there will be others to take KJ's place

You are correct in that technically there was no need for my original comment. But few posts are truely needed and mine generally wasn't meant to offend that's for sure. Maybe the intent hasn't equaled the outcome in this case. For the record I was one of the "posters hoping for the clubs sake he could come on" and also wanted to see him succeed but I hoped for and wanted these things while supporting the clubs selection decisions not criticising the club for them.

I 100% agree with you in wishing all departing players good luck.

I'm no victim. I just didn't think my comment deserved the aggression you dished out but that's ok. I'm over it. Happy to agree we have slightly different perspectives but full support for departing players and the club.

Should I be right to be concerned that Cunningham is somehow being shopped in a deal to land a big fish? Love this kids to bits, great potential talent but could the view be that we have that type of player covered amongst the ranks?

Strong body, good acceleration, excellent kick at goal. No. We definitely don't have that type of player covered. In fact, its probably our biggest deficiency.

We'll need to put a few TCers on suicide watch at that news.
