No, we'd have won if we didn't have the worst forward line in the competition, and a very shallow midfield. Even so, we still matched them for scoring shots.

They've had 200 more points scored against them than the next worse team.

Really hope the coaches do some works on how we man the mark. Most opposition players crib the mark as a matter of course. And then wait/dare the umps to drag them back. And even if they do, the play is slowed down.

Whereas we seem to actually concede ground on the mark, in the vain hope the umps will move us forward again. Of course half the time, the umps end up moving us further back still. We both give ground AND allow far quicker ball movement. :screwy: :banghead:

I'm quite comfortable with the way Bolton is building the team. Most of these guys when drafted are coming from teams where they've been the man and maybe haven't had to be as concerned about the defensive side of the game. I'm very confident they'll be able to transition when the time comes.

You can put on the rose coloured glasses and spin it in a calm, positive light... But I reckon Trigg and most of the board members would have been expecting Bolton to be able to find a way to get a win yesterday.

Very disappointing

I love what we are seeing form Curnow but he must learn to take 5 steps backwards when he takes the so that if he does go to play on his kicks aren't under pressure

I'm happy for Bolton to keep 'experimenting' like he did in the first half on Saturday. Loved seeing Jack as a defender.

Of course they want to win. But sometimes shit happens.

Please change the thread name to Bolton flip flop banter.

I'm not really sure we really need anymore HBF's.....I'd much rather he was in the fwd line

I also think this with Weitering. They're better footballers when forward.

Perhaps we can destroy him like we did Weitering. All part of a grand plan.

Bolton is standing in front of a dyke with 25 holes to fill. He currently doesn't have enough fingers or toes to go around.

Expecting to get anywhere with a dyke is analogous with coaching Carlton.

Yep stick a fork in him. Absolutely ruined. Trade him for Vickery.

They wanted to play Harry.

It was either backline or possibly VFL for Jack.

Or go with the revolutionary idea of having more than one player in the forward line.

The fact is we went in with one tall too many and Jack had to go back or out.
If we were going to experiment, I would have much preferred to see Jack in the forward line where he usually plays and put Charlie Curnow in the midfield rotation.

apart from bolton who is doing a good job, i think the other coaches should be looked at. We need some1 just out of the game to add to coaching panel.

Jack plays as a tall. Couldn't have him there as well.
