SOS working like a mad man leaving no stone unturned. There will be plenty of surprises.
Pickett highly rated internally (BB).
Backline   1 x Forward.
Gibbs will request a trade again.
Marquee signings 2018-2019.
Kelly apparently homesick. We are still very much a destination club for the GWS players.

Apparently it was very good list management to have Rowe, Weitering, Marchbank, Plowman, A Silvagni, White, Jones, Macreadie and Glass-McCasker on the list. If we had any more injuries they might be forced to pick Jaksch.

Liam Jones set to re-sign with Carlton following sparkling form as a defender

LIAM Jones will sign a two-year heavily incentive-based contract that will reflect his massive upside in coming seasons.

Carlton’s renaissance man has dominated some of the best forwards in the game in the past five weeks since breaking back into the senior side.

The 26-year-old is set to reject offers that came for him as far back as his dominant stretch in the VFL and have continued to pour into his management since.

Good deal for both parties.

I'm putting a red line through Buckley, Boekhorst, Jaksch, Sumner, Armfield, Graham and Gorringe at a guess from the seniors. All rookies except A. Silvagni have a question mark next to their names. I'm also putting a question mark on Gibbs for hypothetical trade purposes.
Gibbs to Adelaide for their first rounder.
Trade that to GWS for Hopper, Kennedy and their 2nd round pick.
ASOS to go to the senior list next year.

Hyopthetical best team for 2018:
B: Marchbank Jones MacReadie
HB: Simpson Weitering Byrne
C: Murphy Kennedy Petrevski-Seton
HF: J. Silvagni Casboult Fisher
F: Pickett C. Curnow McKay
R: Kreuzer Cripps Docherty
I: Williamson Hopper Cuningham 2017 Pick 3

CARLTON expects star midfielder Bryce Gibbs to remain at the club beyond this season, despite a failed trade request to Adelaide during last year’s exchange period.

Gibbs, a former Pick 1 and a 224-game player with the Blues, is enjoying a career-best campaign and remains tied to the club for another two years after this season.

He was unsuccessful in his attempts to force through a move to the Crows last year, with personal issues at the heart of his decision to request a trade to his native South Australia.

However, Carlton chief executive Steven Trigg suggested on Wednesday that such issues have since “settled” and has revealed his belief that Gibbs will still be at Carlton in 2018.

“With two years left on his contract I’d expect him to be at Carlton,” Trigg told SEN.

“It’s a great credit to him, the way he’s played this year. It looks like it’s probably been his best year. I think, all things considered, that’s a huge credit to him.

“We would hope and expect that he’s still with us next year. He’s contracted for two more years and it was a personal issue (the trade request), not a football issue.”

Asked whether Gibbs’ off-field issue had “settled down”, Trigg said: “We understand so, so I would expect him to be in Melbourne.”

I listened to the interview.

Trigg careful with his wording... as you'd expect.

Nothing confirmed or denied.

According to that statistically we've shown the third greatest improvement in the league.
