The latest excuse to come out is about how we only beat a 'half-strength' Giants.

The same 'half-strength' Giants that had won 9 of 11 games prior to this one :screwy:

I am excited also, this team works hard, hard for each other, hard for Bolts. Now if i can just convince the son to come back to watching some footy with me.

I know it's easier said than done but how good will we be when we actually convert our dominance in to scoreboard pressure.

We don't kick enough goals and the better sides punish us when they have momentum.

If we can fix or improve that part of our game we will be much, much harder to deal with.

I would love to know what the MC think of KJ and Liam Jones as KP defenders.

Jones is 198cm, very quick and has an amazing leap. He turns 27 in Feb 2018. I wonder if he worth using as a defender. Guys like Grundy and Tarrant at the Roos played their junior career as forwards, as has Jones. I don't think he has ever been given the CHB roll for any length of time.

I know he runs Hot, luke warm and cold but at his size and with his closing speed perhaps he might be better being led to the ball. His fitness might be the issue as he has never had a big tank. This year's VFL form seems more promising as he is apparently showing a great deal more vigor and aggression.

I rest my case Your Worship. :thanks:

Yeah but you got Jordan Russell wrong red man

I hate to break to you but I wasn't on the books that year. I started officially in 2005.

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_d ... 04&t=N&s=P

125 AFL games is no chump change. Not many after him really that did much more. Take out father son Cloke and only 8 of the remaining 63 after him played more games.

Regards Cazzesman

Look who is at #58 in the draft. Our very own Brad Moran! Can't keep a good man down.

I am loving watching these kids develop week by week. Our 2015 draft has the makings of Hawthorns 2004 draft. The nucleus of sustained period of success. Weitering, Curnow, Cunningham and Jack are just getting better and better. And I have faith the big Harry will be a player as well. The back injury last year put him behind the other boys development but the talent is there and we have the blokes in place to extract the potential from these boys starting with Bolts.

Add the talent added from last year in SPS, Fish, Williamson, Macreadie plus Polson and Kerr potentially; when you nail 2 draft's in succession and add quality young recruits it is just so exciting to be a Carlton fan right now.

Yesterday was another small step towards what I have no doubt will be the Blues next great era

Haven't seen this mentioned, but this is also our first win at Etihad this year.

Our others have been at the G in less than ideal conditions for the opposition. This was a flat deck under the roof.

Hello Caleb Marchbank here. The second best if not the best of all those above. Couldn't agree more with your sentiments however. Technically he wasn't a draft pick but I think of him as one

Plowman a handy pickup as well.

They all also forget we played one short for almost the entire match which makes the close win even more meritorious.

He does. I was trying to work it out yesterday. The Master Builder would be good in Navy Blue.

Really, really stoked with the win, moreso as it was the by-product of a good plan well executed by the players for 4 quarters.

It showed not only tremendous buy-in from the players, but also their degree of tactical concentration and discipline. So pleasing to see this level of sophistication!!

The one thing that annoyed me a bit is we continue to have too many flying for marks. I can understand the reason, or at least i think I can: guys desperate to not allow the opposition to mark; Cripps wanting to add another dimension to his game by playing tall. But on too many occasions we had Cripps, Kruze, Charlie and Casboult flying for the same ball. I know we will sort this out though.

If we'd been a bit cleaner we could've been further in front, but they too fluffed a few. Thought Gibbs tried hard to re-dress the stoppage imbalance, but he, like Cripps, was a bit fumbly at times. Great seeing youngsters like Cunningham and Fisher cope with the tempo. Such a shame Fisher didn't finish off that slick move with the match-winning goal, but I'm sure he will next time.

Kruze was fantastic in his 150th, and Docherty is playing AA level football (even if the likes of Flog Darcy et al will ignore it).

Think I might watch the replay again :D

Great point you make. Great observation.

Bolton hasn't been silent on building our defensive side first.
Whether it was positional, game style or tempo, all footy fans are convinced the backline is sorted.
And this is with mature heads and in form KPD's Rowe and Silvagni out injured.
Marchbank, Plowman, Weitering, Macreadie, all so mobile they can play further upfield or on smalls...as is Jones and Jaksch.

Williamson Sheehan Byrne Smedts and the addition of A.Silvagni, will push out Docherty into the midfield soon, to add class there.

Midfield depth will be added at the end of the year to add to Kreuzer Cripps Murphy Gibbs SPS Cuningham Simpson and the Curnows.

Then after that the Forward Targets will mature...McKay Silvagni Curnow Kerr and Co....and we will get a big name...then kaboom.

SOS and BB have crafted a Great plan. 66 round reset. I call it an instant rebuild with the right people in charge.

Yes, and I thought I saw Williamson evade a potential steal by flipping the ball around his back near the boundary line?

Great, tough win that showed all the things we would be aiming for: tight defence (all over the ground), four quarter effort, composure under pressure, intelligent and quick decision making.

Came over from Tassie to watch game and what a game , obviously some stand out players but it was a fantastic team effort, no slackers, didn't hear the final siren and hearing the crowd sing the song after the game was simply the best, people standing singing and cheering the boys unreal, we are a team on the rise , bolts and SOS and co are obviously building a fantastic culture, glory days are on the horizon , GO BLUES !!!!!

You might just have to be content with the match-winning behind this time Maxy.
