Crippa I hope you aren't being negative about Jones
Perhaps you shouldn't go on Saturday

Haha...Posters having their say when they know nothing...two new 2017 players are selected. A mature age midfielder promoted after dominating in the magoos and our only ruckman back playing doesn't get me angry like the rest of you. We are going through a reset. Too many posters are getting their knickers in a knot as if we're selecting a team for a final!...

Nah I posted earlier about it. He got a massive wrap from the coach last week for being best on ground while playing in the ruck against what Josh considered the top VFL ruckman. What if he actually might have the attributes to be the next breed of ruckman?

Get the feeling Cunners a late in for either SPS or Murphy. Played with real intent last week, won't be unhappy with that.

They could of came played more "senior" players last week. What was the point of last weeks slaughter?

Seems like a complete about face...... but then again what would l know?

Too tall. Just when we thought we wouldn't go taller and slower ....white, COS, Rowe, Marchbank & Plowman in the back half!
Like the guy but let's just hope COS doesn't try and rebound too often....

Popcorn.... Alex will cause a lot of discussion. I would prefer Waitering back and Jaksch in.

But that would make good sense, it's not our way.

Josh Fraiser on KJ
Stats: 9 disposals, 4 marks, 2 goals
From the coach: He performed well in our front half with our other key talls, where he took a few great contested marks and led up the ground well. He needs to keep capitalising on the scoreboard to make the most of his game and take it to the next level.

Take the band wagon blinkers off. 9 disposals and the coach saying he isn't capitalising on the scoreboard AT VFL LEVEL being elevated to AFL is hardly automatic good sense.

Maybe for once "our way" is not to promote people who are doing well at VFL level. They need to show seriously good form to get a call up which is fantastic in my opinion.

macredie getting a rest makes sense
kreuzer for phillips is a no brainer
would have liked to see polson keep his spot ahead of graham, maybe we might get a reasonable explanation at the presser
pickett going back and hopefully dominating at preston IMO is the right call, but we haven't replaced him with a goalkicker which is strange, was hoping galluci would come in for pickett

we're still one tall too many

What a load of rubbish. He's played 14 career games for a total of 3 goals. He plays well in the VFL but hardly dominates. I honestly don't get the love affair for him on here.

You see, that's where your inferencing and interpretation skills are somewhat deficient.

Nobody is in love with him here. Some people on this site believe that given our dearth of talent up forward, his reasonably good form over the year as a KPF in the VFL and improved contested marking probably should've been enough to give him a try at senior level

Boekhorst, Buckley, White, Rowe, Armfield, Jones etc are all players who have shown they have limitations and probably not part of next years squad. And for most, if not all of the above, most fans could've highlighted those weaknesses 12-24 months ago.

But...we got to see those players on multiple occasions to make that call. The same cannot be said about Jacksh. He has played 1 game for Carlton.

You will probably get your wish and see him off our list. Was he given a fair go? IMHO, absolutely not

And by the way, go and do some research on Josh Kennedy's first 10-15 games for Carlton...Or Casboult's first 50 games?

I think Rowe can defend Franklin body on body.

Buddy has lost a yard, Rowe is in reasonable form.

Should be a great match up.

I hope Alex has learned to link up. Two defensive stoppers in one side is a bit dour when we need some razzle dazzle.

He has played 7 games for Carlton.
But I agree that we should give him one final chance at senior level.

Agree SB, would prefer Weitering go back and Jaksch forward.

The backline looks so slow.
