Green Shoots for Round 4:

- Zac Fisher's debut and THAT goal of his. Reckon this kids another SOS recruiting master stroke.
- Solid games from a lot of our youngsters including SPS, Pickett, SOS and C. Curnow (apart from his kicking for goal)
- The team showing some mongrel when the Suns flogs tried to rough them up at Half Time

Overall, one shocking quarter and embarrassingly bad kicking for goal lost us the game, but lapses on games are to be expected when fielding such a young team with 9 of our players 21 and under.

I've seen enough from the kids coming through to be convinced that when it clicks, we're going to be awesome!!

GO BLUES!!

We blew this game ... we had them well covered early on bar the scoreboard resulting is no scoreboard pressure

Cripps wasn't in the huddle at quarter time and was in the rooms ... didn't start in the second quarter ... obviously carrying something

Noticed we started to tire late in the second so wasn't surprised with what happened during the third ... errors caused goals

Fisher is going to be a delight to watch

Keep rolling them in Bolts ... Polson is next

Our lack of leg speed between the arcs and our slow transition is our downfall

Time to start weeding out players that are no good to us going forward

The problem is his missing targets even from that range or less.

Gold coast were a lock this week and I'm surprised we did as well as we did. We will match it with teams for effort and endeavour at the G, where conditions level it out a bit.

Bit of wind, rain or dew and our effort will drag us over the line.

We're simply not skilful enough at racetracks like Etihad to punish opposition turnovers without making a bucket load ourselves. Skill and decision making.

Suns have some highly skilled players.

Wouldn't mind a Tom lynch at full forward either...

Oh and zero need for Thomas to play for us again, ever.

Weitering is not an effective forward. Most of the time we go our forwrd entry through him, his immediate instinct is to sit under the ball and spoil. ie a defender's instinct. Then after Lynch was murdering us, Bolton puts Weitering back, and he looked doubly lost. The Suns would run a cheap block through another forward at Weiters, and allow Lynch free roam at the ball.

it feels like we're hurting weiter's development by swapping him and out of the froward line. the best natural defender in the team, and for his age, the best in the league. Yet we throw him forward in a structureless forward line with poor quality in entry? it's the only coaching and MC strategy that I'm in 110% disagreement over.

daisy thomas is the worst afl player in the league right now. Can't hit a target from 15 metres away, squibs when it comes to contact ... and his only redeeming quality of his time at Carlton – his tackling – is now a thing of the past as he can't catch anyone to tackle and when does, he just throws out an arm, airport turnstile-style.

How much does Fisher look like a young Simmo??

there's our simmo replacement. beautiful left foot, runs and tackles and plays well above his weight with the same fearlessness that number 6 has always had.

See, that's the problem when you don't go to the game. Casboult had one of his best games for us IMO, and it was mainly because of his work off the ball. Worked his butt off.

Bit harsh saying he is not an effective forward. Kicked 4 goals 2 in his first 3.5 games as a forward as a teenager. Second for the club in goal assists. Equal second marks inside 50 and equal third for tackles inside 50. Overall your post might be right (I'm undecided) but he's an effective forward and an appropriate option for the club at this point until others like Harry get it together.

Same.

Marked well, ran well and kicked them easy (apart from one) and rucked.

Not sure what else he's expected to do.

For a good bush league level player, Levi did as well as he possibly could've and the MC would've been happy with his contribution.

When the Blues had to find a 3rd gear, 10 mins into the 3rd they had nothing. Like the Bombers against the Crows, I suspect the tank was empty after the slog last week.

On the fast track, with the speedsters from GC running us ragged, we just flattened out and had to watch the procession to Lynch and 2 Metre. Damn aren't they some damn fine Targets to Aim at !!!!

Gibbs and Murph and Crippa looked like boat anchors trying to catch, Hall, Harbrow and Saad.

I can't Wait to get 50 games into Williams. He is a ripper. So much aggression and attitude.

Hopefully KJ went well in the trial game because we need him. I hope the MC leave Weits at CHB and tries KJ or Marchbank up forward.

And just how good is the Dr. :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: He is worth coming along to see play.

I can't wait until Byrne gets back. We need his speed and kicking to set up play.

Regards Cazzesman

I know it won't probably happen but if they rested Crippa and Weits and bought in Graham and KJ I think that could only help the former get through a long season.

Graham has had his chances. Why people keep putting forward his name beats me. He is slow and extremely limited how and where he can play. Great VFL player but that is his level. We have moved on.

Really get worried for Cripps and Weitering, I hope we don't ruin them. Cripps appears to be playing injured. Weitering looks sore, is getting knocked around playing up forward. It's about the process at the moment not so much about winning. They are still kids, both need to be carefully managed.

Then there's Thomas, demands the ball out wide then turns the ball over. Can't kick, can't tackle, please, please no more. He's the past, play a kid (any kid) before him. If he plays enough games to be on our list next year it's an indictment on the club.
