Casboult disappointing for mine. Kicked 2 junk time goals. There must have been 5 times where he didnt half the contest.

There was also at least 5 time when we didn't kick to him or his advantage.

Yes, a couple were late but took 10 marks as well.

Bolton: We had nine players under the age of 21 out there tonight, so we're a work in progress.
Bolton: We won't shy away from our third quarter.
Bolton: There was a lot to like about Fisher, Silvagni, Petrevski-Seton and Pickett.
Bolton: There were positive signs. When it all clicks for our youngsters, it's going to be good for us.
Bolton: Cripps was a bit sore tonight, but he battled hard.
Bolton: I won't talk about changes yet for next week. We'll be rigorous in our review for every individual.

Credit to the Suns. They absorbed our pressure in the first half and clinically dissected us when our energy levels dropped off in the 3rd quarter. It was always on the cards that we would drop off at some stage (young team, hard slog last week), so we desperately needed to be further in front at half time.

Our young players look promising and if/when we bring that defensive pressure for 4 quarters consistently we will be a very hard team to play against.

Plenty of green shoots. Stay patient.

Thomas plays a truly insipid role

100% once you cross the line.

Would like it if we dropped Thomas and White (yes he was great last week but his inconsistency kills us). Replace with Buckley and Jaksch. If for no other reason, we need to find out if these guys have a future in the seniors. I still like to think they are both good enough.

Don't add more kids as it tips the balance too much. Can probably lose one or two. Have to start resting them soon and rotate the others (Polson, Cuningham, Galluci, LeBois when fit etc).

There is still room for a Kerridge or Palmer to have a run. We need more midfield depth.

I think its time to bring him in. He'll also offer more flexibility that Daisy does.
Unfortunately I suspect a couple of our other youngsters may need a week off soon.

This year I've been ok with Daisy being in the team, but he was terrible today, and I agree with BV's summation. He simply can't kick effectively, and regardless of any leadership he might have, he turns the ball over far too often.

It's time for him to be dropped.

On the bright side, the young guys are looking great, and Petrevski-Seton will be an absolute star. His quality in both getting the ball and disposal are outstanding. In a couple of years he'll be tearing the opposition apart.

Worried we are not doing Jacob Weitering any favours. No one up forward so we start him there. Key backs getting reamed and we move him back on a red hot Lynch (too late). Start him back where he should play and we can't kick a score so we move him forward. He's talented enough to cope but it is unsettling him IMO.

Didn't look right tonight. That concussion last week was pretty heavy

He is a level headed kid, I'm sure he's fine.

Why must he come in if he's only plain?

Polson and Sheehan ought to come in. The latter is a gorgeous kick and we need more good kicks.

Poor 3rd quarter and wasted chances in front of goal.
Gold Coast are a very quick side.
Was to expected after the slog of last week in the wet.

Very good signs with our youngsters. Fisher already looks like he belongs and Pickett I thought looked very dangerous, and got into the game early.
Would love to lure 2 meter Pete as our key forward. Big mobile unit and can kick a ball through the big sticks.

Looked like we hit a wall in the 3rd after last week, and with so many youngsters in the side it was probably a bridge too far, as it's common for sides with that many kids to be unable to stem momentum.

Gold Coast are a good side, not sure what they were doing first 2 rounds, but they are every chance to make the 8

I've never played competitive footy so I don't know but can playing in the wet make that much difference to professional athletes? The Suns also had a six day break AND had to travel this week and ran the game out. No hitting the wall for them.

Good first half apart from the poor conversion... Murphy was up and about and all the kids looked like they belong. Tackles stuck and we moved the ball efficiently.

But that 3rd qtr was putrid... we totally lost our shape as the Suns started moving the ball a lot quicker than they did in the first half. Their mids destroyed us with their run and spread, while Cripps (looked lame) and Gibbs gave us very little when we needed them most. Heads dropped and our structures broke down which meant the Suns practically walked in some of their goals. Thought our coaches didn't react fast enough to try and stem the flow as well.

At least there was some sort of fightback in the last and we didn't allow it to blow out.

I think where Thomas really hurts us is his inability to move the ball more than 25 metres. He really only has the short option when he gets the ball, which leads to turnovers.
