I'm assuming that pick upgrade was needed to get us Marchbank/Pickett otherwise you are right diabolical

I'm curious, please tell me how Brisbane and Melbourne have not been a laughing stock over the past 5 to 10 years?

We've made incredibly dumb and short sighted trading (and to a lesser extent drafting) decisions in the last 2 years under the current regime...

We've missed trade targets, accepted bad contracts, signed bad contract(s), and we didn't even have a senior/national recruiting manager during this time...

During the same period Brisbane, particularly Melbourne, have been much smarter...

TBH, I don't care about other clubs, but you brought them up, I'm not sure why...

Doesn't make us less dumb!

So SOS is the problem. :banghead: ......since his been incharge for the past 2 years.

Clearly, comprehension isn't your strong point... clubs are not dependent on one person (i.e. the saviour mentality) to make all decisions on everything....

Are you pointing the finger at SOS?

Maybe you're confused and referring to Agro's post...

I doubt it was SOS's decision to go without a national recruiting manager for two drafts... we have one now! So clearly we needed a recruiting mgr!!!

You don't think that's dumb? Is that clear enough for you?

SOS's role isn't responsible for that decision, he reports to McKay, even though there is a dotted line from SOS to Trigg.

I could go on but I get the feeling that logic is wasted on you...

 ... you must be so proud of yourself .....

We have the cattle albeit young. Give 'em another go.

That's all well and good and I agree. I just pray to God we actually have the right set up so that these kids don't go chasing a better culture and more competitive environment elsewhere.

I don't think I can emotional tolerate another coach sacking/rebuild...I've actually had enough.

Interesting POV.
I trust Mark, Trigg, SOS and BB. And Brodie.
Worth exploring SWOT on the environment.. Its important. We have another great opportunity coming on.

It was used to get Marchbank. We also received a later round pick which turned out to be Polson I believe. The 3 places in the draft will depend on where both clubs finish...

Regardless, it's pointless looking at these trades in isolation ...

AGRO, been listening to the commentators?
Should know by now they know sh!te.

Door is right, basically that trade got us Marchbank and Polson (or Kerr, depending how you work it out)...
We're already close to being ahead... Albeit the Cats needed a Tuohy type, so it's a win win.

It will be interesting to see what happens next year with the Hawks favour pick ;)

Dees may field weaker team this week with Vince out suspended & Hogan injury concern. Weakened enough for the mighty CFC to win.......?

Well we had them at the end of 2016 when they had everything to win. Be interesting to see what the off-season has done for both teams. Unfortunately I think I have had all the optimism trained out of me. Lets see what our midfield has learned from last week.

That's a good thing if only that it spares us the likes of Dwayno banging on all game about Hogan beating out Cripps for the 2015 Rising Star.

He's a primo troller is our Derwayne, he wouldn't be doing his job if he couldn't slip one reference in.

I expect Viney to explode this round after an average game last week. Nathan Jones is still so important to them, I would like to see someone run with him. Maybe a good job for Smedts

Second-year forward Harry McKay is in line to make his AFL debut on Sunday against Melbourne, after the Blues named their extended squad on Thursday evening.

The 19-year-old booted four majors in the Northern Blues’ hit-out against Richmond last week, with the youngster in line for his anticipated debut at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.

McKay was drafted in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft with Carlton’s first round selection with pick No.10 overall.

Nick Graham and Sam Kerridge have also been named in the extended 25-man squad for Sunday’s clash.

The Blues will name their 22-man team on Friday evening before the side faces Melbourne at 3:20pm on Sunday at the MCG.

Carlton's extended squad for Round 2:

Centreline 46. Matthew Wright 4. Bryce Gibbs 6. Kade Simpson
Half-forwards 1. Jack Silvagni 41. Levi Casboult 30. Charlie Curnow
Forwards 43. Simon White 23. Jacob Weitering 5. Sam Petrevski-Seton
Followers 8. Matthew Kreuzer 9. Patrick Cripps 3. Marc Murphy (C)

Interchange (from): 27. Dennis Armfield 35. Ed Curnow 32. Nick Graham 11. Sam Kerridge 10. Harry McKay 16. Billie Smedts 39. Dale Thomas
