Kreuz our best I thought
Jack very good, 2 goals 2 and could have kicked 5
Weiters showed a bit
Impressed with Marchbank inercepts, disposal not so good - hopefully will improve
Rowe was immense, would have lost by >6 goals more without him - would like him to go for a few marks though occasionally

SPS was ok, shoudl get better
Pickett, not many opportunites
Macreadie didn't look up to it, but at least needs a few games to get used to the pace

Martin absolutely smashed us all night, he was the difference - but also the Tiges were more organized around the ball, seemed to constantly have a player to release to

About what I expected, so not too disappointed - when we kicked 5 goals to 2 in the 3rd you could feel the Tiges supporters worry, the fun bit of the night

THIS!! Marchbank had a touch of the Kerridges with some diabolical decision making and execution at times but a lot to work with there! Pickett had some nice touches too and I thought SOS jnr looked good as well. Needs to get stronger but seems to find space and had a wicked step a couple of times. Murphy played well. I thought Rowe did OK.

On the other hand, some poor execution cost us big time. Some poor execution saw us giving up turnover goals. Martin was awesome for them. Dennis looked cooked, white looked like...well...white. Smedts?? Did we keep the receipt for Zach?

I would be dropping White, Armfield and C Curnow for Kerridge, Palmer and Buckley.

Curnow needs confidence and form so nothing wrong with him spending a few weeks in the VFL.

I'm not sure he's the kind of player who improves with time at the lower level.

Needs to experience the pace and pressure of AFL and grow from it.

Agreed on Curnow. Pressure is what will turn this bit of coal into a diamond.

How many full games has Curnow played at the lower level? He has been sick and injured when not in the AFL team. I think he'll be a gem, but i'd like to see him getting more of the footy in the magoos for a while. I would play Jaksch instead. Surely he offers as much as Curnow at the moment and we need to see if he can turn his 4 goals a week in the 2nd's into 2 goals a week in the league side.

Rowe went for his marks more in the 2nd half, and I thought we were more attacking too. Maybe ran out of puff in the last.

I thought Pickett showed real potential. When he has a couple of pre seasons under his belt he'll be great.

Agree, our terrible decision especially in the first half handed them too many easy goals from turn overs.
Lots to like, Kruezer was great, Plowman, Marchbank, Weitering can hold their heads up.
Cripps was down, which was to be expected.
Just home from the game and it pretty much went as I expected it to.
Umpiring as bad as ever.

.@Bolta10 Bolton: I was excited that we saw our future out there tonight. They weren't intimated. #AFLBluesTigers #BoundByBlue
.@Bolta10 Bolton: We have to really tidy up our ball use.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: Our young kids won't give up. They didn't let the scoreboard affect them at half-time.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: Weitering got a corked hip, but he pushed through the pain. He's a tough nut.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: We think Weitering will be played at both ends this year for his growth.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: Macreadie and Marchbank showed a bit in defence tonight.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: Our youngsters weren't consistent for four quarters, but we saw positive glimpses.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: We saw Petrevski-Seton's calmness tonight. If you dig deep into his life, you'll see that not much fazes him.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: We expect Jed Lamb (late out with knee soreness) to be available next week.
.@Bolta10 Bolton: I'm not concerned about Weitering's hip. Usually when players stay out there, it's a good sign.

We are in a real transition phase.

Nobody seeming to want to stand up and claim the moment.

Too many handballs when we are in our forward fifty is evidence of this.

Lots of people calling for Rowe to be out but he will play every game if fit. He allows JW up forward. He's no world beater but I thought he battled hard and did okay. Nothing great but not bad enough to drop.
I'm not sure on white, probably rather than just threw KJ in the deep end and see if he's going to make it.

Loved the green shoots from macredaie, SPS, SOJ and a few flashes from Pickett.

Marchbank was generally excellent.
Maybe tried to make things happen a bit too much resulting in a few turn overs but he's going to be great for us.

A lot of our handballing was to disadvantage, probably due to pressure. Tigers had time and composure that we don't yet.

Armfield should make way for Cunningham. Army is not even that quick these days.

Jack gets paid that mark in the last quarter and Richmond were nearly in shit themselves mode.

Too often we have 3 or 4 backman all going for the spoil or at times going the spoil rather than taking the mark when they are in the best position. The same happens up forward.

With regards to Marchbank he reminds me of Rance in his early days. Yes his disposal needs some work but the positives clearly outweigh his deficiencies. This kid is special, he's a ripper.

People calling for Casboult to be dropped could you please let us know who will provide the ruck support?

Army is NQR at the moment. He should not be regarded as an automatic selection because he is coasting.

I thought there were some good signs, especially third quarter, but I worry that Bolton's game plan is just a little beyond the current ability of our players.

The handball at all costs mentality doesn't really work if your players can't handball to a moving target or catch the ball cleanly.

Kerridge Palmer Buckley are all poor users of the ball so they are no improvement on White and Army.
Better to bring in Fischer and Cuningham. C Curnow needs to play.

We kicked 14 Goals which I haven't seen for a while...Our defenders battled hard... Even Rowe stood his ground and did OK....

The Real problem was in the midfield. We needed some big bodies and pressure to stop the onslaught from the Tigers. Billie Smedts, Thomas & Army were a liability. We needed 3 midfielders to do their job and assist Patrick.C, Murphy & Gibbs... just didn't happen.

Smedts needs to be dropped. Thomas is past it. He was past it since the day he left Collingwood. Army has pace to burn... perhaps needs few weeks to reignite.

This. Kids with speed and skill. Play them together so they gell as a TEAM. That what was lacking tonight. We are going to get done anyway, we know that so drop those who are not going to take us forward and play the kids who are and have them learn from each other.

The shoots who will sprout.

The quarter and a bit that I watched had me excited for the future of some of our young guys but it was hard to watch the handballs to feet, kicks to opposition advantage and players spoiling each other.

How bad are the commentators?

I think the Richmond player (accidentally) got a hand to it, before Jack grabbed it.

Didn't witness anything to be excited about tonight. We have some youth, and with it comes hope, but that's about it. No forward, an aging midfield and what? We recruited a class future defender who now will be used at both ends for experience? Is that footy code for we have so many holes ...

Going to be another long and disappointing year. But that seems to be the norm @ Carlton for the last 20+ years.
