My guess for Rd1

Simo Rowe Plowman
Doc Marchbank Smedts
Kerridge Cripps E Curnow
C Curnow Casboult Palmer
Wright Weiters Pickett

Kreuz Gibbs Murphy
IC SPS White Daisy Army

Think if SPS has a good game next week for Northern Blues we will take the chance
Left Jack out as seems to be struggling
Alex could play ahead of Plowman or White
Would like to see Cunningham play, but think SPS a better option to begin - probably needs to take Kerridge or Palmers spot, but not getting enough of it at the moment imho
Hope Byrne doesn't take too long to get back as he is a much better option than Smedts - fast, good overhead and most importantly good user by foot

There is no way I could pick Palmer or Armfeild on there games through the JLT
both were very ordinary

Yes - has been doing it for years. Saw it first hand last year in the Collingwood game.

Don't think that there is another practice game between now and round one, so SPS is an unlikely starter.... Fingers crossed we'll see him sooner rather than later

I don't think we can play White and Alex Silvagni in the same team.

I'd play Silvagni over White.

FB: Plowman - Rowe - Marchbank
HB: Simpson - Weiters - Docherty
C: Murphy - Curnow - Kerridge
HF: Cripps - Casboult - Pickett
FF: Wright - C.Curnow - Palmer
FOL: Kruzer - Gibbs - Curnow

IC: Armfield, A. Silvagni, Polson or Fisher, J.Silvagni

I know he'll get picked but Kerridge has worse hands than a sex offender. Absolute liability.

I don't think hands are a sex offenders problem, but I get what you mean.

Probably in the best couple, the past 2 NB practice games. Showed good aggression and intensity. Thats all he can do is show good form and force his way into the team.
Personally I hope he develops into a good player just piss off the negative whingers. Too many on this site enjoy writing off players when they wouldn't know a football from an easter egg.
He's still only 22 and has plenty of scope for improvement. Like all the youngsters on the list, I have hope for him.
Personally, I suspect he'll be playing seniors within 3 rounds if he keeps up his form.

Sorry but if ASilvagni is in the side from round 1 with Rowe and a youngster is left out - then BB has lost me.

The whole idea behind recruiting a guy like him was to:

1. Replace Rowe as the bigger body defender.
2. Our young KP players need a rest / break.
3. Injuries

Nothing against the guy, although disposal is woeful, but.....

Ps. Well said BV.

I totally agree with you BV. I too have hope but have to shut up every time I catch up with a mate of mine who talks about him like he was the worst player to ever put a CFC jumper on. As he's done virtually nothing in the couple of games he's played, my mate certainly holds the whip hand...at this stage!!!!

I have no idea why he's been made an example of because I'm sure there are players currently playing that don't deserve to be, regardless of the aggression or positive vibe they exude on the training track.

My guess is that KJ is part of the club's future plans, and as such, are investing heavily in his psychological development by getting him settled in the fwd half with a specific brief.

Personally I hope he develops into a good player, because it will help make us a better side. But you're point is noted

Come on Surrey, give the bloke a break.

One round doesn't make a season, or something like that.

Silvagni has shown something: he deserves consideratn.
Rowe did well last game: there a no other big bodied players who can play his role.
I doubt Macreadie would last longer than half: thereafter he's a liability.

The preseason has proved moreso that players like Thomas and Palmer have a lot to prove...in the twos.
Look, I haven't been impressed in many of our usuals, and I was an avid fan of Armfields. Smedts has done @#$%&! all. Kerridge works hard but clumsy.
Sumner is a kid, and he hasn't shown he deserves anything, along with Graham, Bckley and Boekhurst

Let the MC do what they know best, and go for the ride till they lose you then

There's a lot of players who will surprise. We showed good signs in firsts and seconds on the weekend.

Sorry Bondi - absolutely nothing against the guy and I agreed with the drafting. I think defensively ASOS is ok. Not sure offensively he ticks many boxes but.....

The reason I say what I say is that I do not see the point or any possible advantage our side would get from running Rowe, ASilvagni and even White in the same side. I wouldn't have 2 of the 3 in any of our sides and I would go as far as call 'tanking' if that occurred.
We have Weitering, Marchbank & Plowman now! 1 of Rowe/ASOS would help this trio and side but that is it.

Again, nothing personal, as he is a Silvagni after all and many know my beliefs / thoughts on our history and culture.

Maybe end of the year we can possibly Rowe , Simpson and Armfiled go but during 2017 season they're to give the youngsters some respite , protection and allow their physiques and fitness to develop further. The pressure is dynamic and they'll not last a full season so it's intermittent for the lads for at least 1st and some 2nd year.
Further A Silvagni has at least another 2 good years left.

Not sure apart from,
Simpson Rowe Plowman
Docherty Marchbank ??
?? Cripps ECurnow
Pickett Weitering ??
SOJ Charlie Wright
Kreuzer Murphy Gibbs
From; ?? ?? ?? ??
That's all we have with the starting 22.
Thomas, Kerridge, White, Armfield, Palmer, Casboult and Smedts will play.
Non of them are in anyone's best 22.
Byrne will come back when fit.
Fisher, SPS, McKay, Polson, Kerr, Lebois, Mcreadie, Cuningham and Williamson are all still young.
Lamb, Sumner, Graham, Gorringe, Jaksch, Buckley, Sheehan, Boekhorst, Gallucci, ASilvangi and Jones are not good enough.
