Didn't think it was personal at all.

You have to take on board the possibility (through injury or form) that all players need a hit out at this stage to give Bolts (and themselves) an idea of how and where they fit in the team.

I don't think you will see a line of Silvagni, Rowe and White in this match. I don't believe they will spend very much time on the ground at the same time. They may not all be playing for all we know.

I'm sure there's a plan.

We see things from our perspective and influences: the TV and footy forums.
We are not privy to the big picture.

My expectation and belief is that we will see a very different Carlton in round 1 than we have in the JLT.
I'm sure the whole team made huge gains throughout the preseason, and whilst they have looked lethargic and lacked cohesion, the players have a strong belief in a lot they achieved over the summer.

I expect a loss this weekend, but I expect the boys to step up a gear, then for the next fortnight, increase the loads, settle on a team and adopt what they were drilled in the preseason against Richmond.

I just can't believe the boys wasted a whole summer doing @#$%&! all towards improvement.

Its the selection of blokes like Thomas who irk me.

White and Rowe have their limitations, and we know them, but they are getting involved.

Thomas hasn't shown any physical improvement on the last few years.
He still looks too slow for AFL, and his skills are not what they should be.
IMO he's on a steep decline regardless of what he says about his uninterrupted preseason.

He's not the player he was. We all can say that from experience, knowing what to look for.

AS for former GWS high draft picks, Jaksch and Sumner, is the writing on the wall?
They are not on any injury list.
May as well forget about them till they dominate at VFL level and knock the door down.

I was hoping to see Sheehan, but glad he really stood out in the VFL practise game on the weekend.
He could be really handy in the backline if fully fit.

I agree, but improvement during pre-season before JLT can only be measured against our own metrics and playing against each other, where no doubt we would have improved, just on the draft's picks from last year being one year older, as an example.

But I like some other supporters, get concerned when we need to measure up against opposition, and find that we are lacking in so many metrics. Don't get me wrong, the club is on the right path, but we need to temper our club's comments about improvement until we have a list with "real density" that will play consistently and beat the opposition. I think this is more likely to appear in 2019/2020.

GWS has a couple of injuries apparently. Sad they have another 10 Players to take their spot without impact.

Continuing with Plowman on the dangerous small forward.

No communication between Weitering and Casboult but Wright crumbs perfectly to goal.
