We need to continue bottoming out and flood this list with talent like the Demons ad saints have.

Like we did to get Kruezer, Murphy and Gibbs?

Nothing against these guys but....

when carlton supporters were chanting "kruezer kruezer" to lose the game the year before and secure the no 1 pick that's when the rot started on our culture....

I am revising my expectations after the three pre-season games.
yes, they are pre-season games but they were not good.

I am now thinking we will be lucky to win four games and we will finish last or second last.

If we finish second last I am wondering which team will be worse. That's a worry.

Pretty accurate assessment, agree we'll finish bottom 3 at best and it won't be pretty.

To be frank I was amazed how many here were expecting the team to go up this year.

We're still the worst team in the comp who lucked out last year from better teams underachieving, banned, or taking us lightly. This may happen again in 2017 but we can't expect it. It's more likely we'll be at the arse end again (and no doubt SOS and Brodie are already planning how a 1-2 draft pick can become multiple top 5-10 picks).

We're on a long and winding road and I for one am at peace with this.

Don't like the attitude where negative psarchasm replaces positive development. The team needs to learn fast transition and learn by correcting mistakes.....success is not instant

It was funny the first time I heard it. The 100-odd times since not so much.

Revisionist history.

That was 2007

We won spoons in 2002, 2005 and 2006

Salary cap penalties was 2002. We were flowered 5 years before the kreuzer cup.

That game had nothing to do with anything, our crap recruiting post Judd had everything to do with where we are now

Agree fully with this. Those expecting us to rise up further than last year are nuts. We don't have enough coming through yet who will improve the side unless anyone thinks Jakesh boeky or Graham will make an impact.

The young ones like SOS, Charlie, SPS, McKay, marchbank, Pickett, plowman etc are where we are looking to, but they will be too inexperienced to take us anywhere up the ladder just yet.

I know we need some experienced heads in the team, but surely Daisy isn't an automatic selection no matter what metric for performance you use. Casboult too

This is what I'm hope happens....... (dreaming)

We finish second last and get pick 2 in the draft

Kruezer to have his best year..... some club pays him ridiculous money and we get a first round compensation pick (pick 3)

The club approaches the AFL for a priority pick and we are granted a pick at the end of round 1

Gibbs has another stellar year and the Crows offer us two first round picks that we trade away for an early pick

Casboult kicks 50 goals and we trade him to Geelong for a first round pick (pick 14)

Hopefully we end up with picks 2,3,8, 14 and 20

Which we use on 5 mids

Dale Thomas retires
Simon White delisted
Buckley delisted

Casboult could kick 50 goals over 3 seasons

Pretty good assessment , I'd also add trading our 2018 1st rounder.
This draft is going to be a ripper , I'm focusing on Fogarty , Garner and Brander all will be amazing talents no harm in having a healthy dreamy wish list. .

Hopefully Casboult will kick 100, then we'll get pick 7
