Given the efforts of last week, this week and the state of our list, I just cannot see where a winning score will come from.

Bolton isn't great at developing kids into footballers.

Words straight from a former players mouth today.

If that is true, then we need to know why Paul Roos and John Worsfold both had no interest at all in the senior coaches role at Carlton. I'm happy for us to rebuild the whole club all over again if it will mean sustained success.

But i do not think this is necessary. I think any short comings that Bolts might have would be mitigated by having Neil Craig watching over his shoulder.

Today's performance sure is concerning though.

Paul Roos was available. He told Sticks he would be available in a years time but the club decided to move on Rattan to get Malthouse. If we hung on to Ratts for a extra year Roos would be coaching us.

Things were pretty dire this time last year too.

We all know we are bereft of forwards but our bigger issue is in the way we go forward, if the coaching staff think this is the way to go then I am afraid our forward personnel is the least of our problems
but on the flipside of the coin if we keep playing our marquee flower we can extend his contract for another season, woo hoo

It's ok, we're only 22 years into our 66 year rebuild, if you can't see any improvements then you're not paying attention.

Did you think we'd win today?

No.

Was the result vastly different to what you thought it would be?

Considering St Kilda also had a lot of players missing I thought we might kick more than 4 goals. It is not the result but the terrible skills that I found hard to watch.

Where are the Sugar Coaters? Did anybody honestly see anything positive today? I thought Charlie almost had a couple of moments, showed some talent. Other than that...not sure! I wasn't expecting a win but thought we might do better than a bunch of blue witches hats!

Wasn't brilliant today and will be a long season but some green shoots
Marchbank looks a real player Pickett looked promising in a few cameos

Macredie Williamson and Cunnigham McKay all showed snippets

To win any game our senior good players as opposed to White and Rowe will need to perform strongly
Gibbs murph Cripps docherty and Simpson

Absolutely no forward line without Levi and Kreuz was missed

Disappointed that Jaksch and sumner didn't get a shot at it today

Disappointed graham jones Bokehurst
Thomas really shouldn't play round one
Aints had a very strong team in compared to us so all ain't lost

Still are an outside chance to beat the Tigers first round but kicking goals will be a problem

We will get done by 100

When asked about Korcheck's performance today, I thought Bolton did very well not to explode with laughter.

I thought Fisher was very good today.... No one mentioning him?

If handballing to a player who is flat footed and facing the wrong way is part of our plan then God help us!

And for God's sake is there a chance one of our players could put on a block!! Don't need talent for that, and it can be very effective!!!

The only strategic planning I have seen in the last two games is 'Rope a dope' (I hope!)

It may be only early March however our first two games have been VFL standard.

I'm surprised about the angst by some towards White and Rowe, were you surprised how bad they were today. I appreciate their endeavour but these two would not be on any other list and in fact would have been delisted years ago. Thus says a lot about our list.

On the issue of our list we have so many one dimensional types, Lamb, Sumner, Lebois, Pickett etc can only play forward. I doubt they can play through the midfield, something we are screaming out for. Most of our list are either forwards or backs, where are our mids? And I'm not talking about midgets and 60kg midfielders that we have stockpiled.

I am so glad I didn't try and stream this.
Unfortunately, the AFL is still telling me I have a problem with my connection even though I can stream everything else I want to but not AFL. They are in denial. Who do they think I am, Jobe Watson?
Thank heaven for small mercies.

I don't think jakche is as good as Jaensch.

Le Bouis would be good in a Limerick with Tuohy and Louis.

In fact, Le Bouis might be one of Donald Duck's nephews.

According to Nathan Schmook at the AFL website, our best players were Weitering, White, Kerridge and Marchbank. Makes me wonder if he actually saw the game or not. Or perhaps they're the only Carlton players he actually recognised.

Yep ! thats the problem aint it B4.....................nobody there who can get a kick where it really matters. We got killed in the guts. All these little flashy quick types aint worth a cold pie unless they can get a kick in the eye of the storm.Front and centre. They are real sheep dogs for mine..............how the hell do you expect guys who are not high possesion winners at junior level to come in to senior football and all of a sudden become ball magnets......................for eff sake get some kids into the joint who know how to get a kick.......................i will repeat, speed is the most overated commoditee in footy.
