Like the idea of seeing where we are up to with these guys - but would want sheehan in as he has been out for a while...(assume he is uninjured?)

Sheehan Smedts and Harry really need to get some actual game time under their belt. Pickett is another who I should've put in for some game time.

I expect to see Poulson, Fisher, McKay Sheehan Pickett Sumner Smedts and Cuningham play this week to see what they are made of.

If they don't show signs that they are ready to play senior footy, then others will take their place in the next 2 hit outs as the team takes shape up for round 1.

Cripps will be rested. Philips and Byrne are out injured.

How many on the bench this week? 6?

Yes 6... with unlimited interchange

Looking forward to new high tackle interpretation - sick of the tackler being penalised when they slip up the arm of a player when he shrugs or arm lifts

Pretty sure its 8 players on the bench for the first two games is it not?
Most teams choose to only use 6 at a time tho

Hopefully a lot of newbies play - exciting to see

Disappointed Alex Silvagni isn't playing - look forward to him Rowe and white combining in the backline to give it back to the opposition with alacrity
