Check page 1. I'm not sure if that's official though!

It’s official. The No.2 guernsey, worn with distinction by the likes of John Nicholls, Greg Williams and the club’s oldest surviving Premiership player Don McIntyre, has been handed to Carlton’s first-named national draftee of 2012, Troy Menzel.

Menzel secures the guernsey most recently sported by Jordan Russell, with the Blues’ second round draftee Tom Temay earning the No.18 previously worn by Paul Bower.

Carlton’s third round selection, Nicholas Graham, inherits the No.32 recently vacated by the man who wore it into more senior matches than any other Carlton footballer, the 188-game key defender Bret Thornton.

If i was a footballer id wanna wear 100 .

2 x better than Fev and Jezza put together.

I wonder why noone wants those kinds of numbers.. well maybe not 100... especially if it ever gets to a point where they start putting your surname on the back also...... but say number 99.... or even better.... number 96!!

Id love to run out there with number 96... is it allowed ???

It's allowed in soccer isn't it? Well, not sure of international but I always see Italian players in Serie A wearing very high numbers.
Why 96?

Why not have the years that flags were won. Remind the players that Carlton exists to win premierships.

68 (not 69 unfortunately), 70 , 72, 79, 81, 82, 87, 95

If Judd wore 43 instead of 5 it might not be such a huge talking point.
Point being that lower numbers produce more champions and are worn more than higher numbers.
As well, who wears no. 5?

Sam Petrevski-Seton - #5, for Syd Jackson.
Zac Fisher - #16 - Classic midfielders number.
Billie Smedts - #22 - Wore #2 at Geelong, so gets to retain the number at least.
Jarrod Pickett - #26 - Aside from two players, this jumper has a mixed history. Hopefully Pickett can be the third bloke to get his name on the locker.
Harrsion Macreadie - #29 - most recently worn with distinction by Heath Scotland.
Cameron Polson - #31 - Another jumper with a mixed history. Last worn with distinction by Tom Alvin.
Patrick Kerr - #33 - Third generation Blue whose grandfather wore the #11...
Alex Silvagni - #36 - Same jumper as at Freo
Kym Lebois - #40 - from Jamo to a small forward.
Caleb Marchbank - #42 - Wallsy.
Tom Williamson - #44 - Some good players have worn #44...
Rhys Palmer - #50 - why not?

Pretty sure Smedts is 16, Marchbank is 22, Palmer is 24 and Pickett is 33.
