Would love an honest reply from SOS who was list manager at GWS when he brokered the pick 19 Jaksch/Whiley deal for our pick 7.

At this stage it looks a bad deal for CFC.

Then we blow pick 19 on Broekhurst?? What were we thinking?

I've wondered the same thing - did SOS know he was selling us a lemon?
I think Malthouse probably had a fair bit to do with the trade and Boekhurst selection - he wanted instant results to make him look good as opposed to developing an U/18 player.

There weren't many in our team today that i could imagine playing in that Saints team today.

Wrong builds, wrong balanced running gaits, wrong skill sets or just plain bad skills.

great point - saints look good - stand tall, balanced on both sides, good running gait, keep their feet , good foot and hand skills

we looked liked the keystone cops

So we have Thomas, Jones, Walker and Jamison still contracted next year, probably around $1,500,000 in the 2017 cap that we will get very little for.

Never liked the deal you take a gun kid in the draft with a top 10 pick and we downgraded. Then we have to looking at Peter Wright playing for Gold Coast for the next 10plus years :hitcomputer:

it was our pick 9 for jaksch and wiley and pick 19 used for boekhusrt -gws on traded pick 9 to GC which secured peter wright

absolutely laughable our club - 3 spuds gained for a loss of one gun

The thing is Mozzie we would not have selected Wright even if we had kept pick 9. Who ever we would have selected I'm sure would be running around with the Northern Blues.

can you speculate?

It may be in the news next year if my source is accurate and the Tigers are believed to be interested in him. Or even this year. I still have limited information atm but stay tuned to the news. They're linked to so many Carlton associated people anyway so this shouldn't be a surprise.

Pretty sure it was pick 7

In any case we need to draft more midfielders - you can never get too many!

Imagine another mosquito fleet.....in the 21st century.

I'd probably ask Murphy if he wants a chance at success before he's done. Would get a first round pick from one of those in contention, especially North.

This is the list you have when you draft state league players, trade in the most in the league recycled players, struggle to draft AFL standard players outside the 1st round for 10years, and apart from Cripps have 5years of the poorest drafting in the AFL bar last years draft.
We need draft picks and as many early picks as we can get if that's 2nd rd picks then do it. Everyone thought that Jack Silvagni would take 3yrs to show something yet in his first season he has shown more than Jones, Tutt, Everitt, Lamb, Jaksch, Sumner etc have and that he will be a good AFL player minimum. If Silvagni wasn't a Father Son pick last year he might have been a middle or late 2nd rounder to rookie pick. Yet supporters still want more recycled players which in the end take the spots of the previous recycled players that didn't work.
We need to nail our draft picks get in as many as possible over the next 3 years then TARGET players to bring in through free agency and not just bring in the cheapest recycled players we can find.

So are we saying Bratwurst is a failed pick? Is this because of his running gait?
How many others don't have the correct running gait?

I really think we should be looking to trade out Murphy, Kreuzer and Casboult. I think a combination of Murphy and Casboult would net us a 1st round draft pick. We really need to build from the ground up as I think we're 5-6 years away from finals and we'll be going backwards before we go forwards.
