Pick the wrong structured side and this is what you get. We've never been good with 2 ruckmen and even worse when we have 2 rucks and one key forward who's left to carry the load. We are much better with 2 key forwards and one ruck. Kreuzer suddenly stars and Casboult suddenly plays good footy. The way it structured now none of Kreuzer, Phillips and Casboult will never play good footy. Best footy we played this year is when Phillips was injured. Hawthorn, where Bolton was, besides being a mighty team, could work with 2 rucks and Roughhead, a gun in his own right, as Hale was as good as a key forward as he was in the ruck. if he thinks that'll work here with 2 ruckman that struggle bad when off the ball, and a key forward off the rookie list, who's been ok at least in his 4 years in the seniors but certainly no Roughead, then he's going to have problems.

We've had honourable losses but they don't do you alot of good. We got way more out of "horrible", scratchy wins and Freo and Essendon* than we got out of pushing Sydney and Hawthorn. Wins, any win gives you belief and the highly ugly wins set us on a path to a good run of exciting wins. Alot more than the last 2 weeks have done.

Today is why we mustnt get sucked in to Marchbank Tomlinson Omeara deals for high draft picks. Picks over 40 only

As I keep saying, we just are not very good, made worse with the toll of a long season. Half the side just way off the pace with not much coming through if yesterday's result is any indication. I am quite sure Bolton (and our list manager) know exactly what we have and need.

Have to agree with that I have said it before also should have used our picks we gave
GWS to draft kids and not pick up spuds like we have

Bolton will be ok for sure but if he thinks we'll do any good with our current structure he'll get a shock. We're not Hawthorn. thaat'll be his first lesson. Once he picks a side to play to our strengths then you'll see him do well.

Remember we gave up pick 8 for wiley and jasch 2 average potatoes and boekhorst. ..

Gold coast got a gun with our pick 8 peter wright

We must not use draft picks for lower end multiple players

[quote="Blue Sombrero"]I am just gobsmacked at thre lack of effort.
They have set up three goals from having a man standing by himself on the left wing and running through the F50 and passing or marking it.
They just aren't learning from their mistakes.

In a half of footy we have run with the ball twice. Both within tha last ten minutes of the half. One of them was Thomas.

There must be someone in the twos who is quick and who wants to play football for the Carlton Football Club. Someone we haven't tried as yet.

Oh and Bolts, kicking it long to a contest is NOT working anywhere on the ground. Neither is stopping and going back for a kick while the opposition runs and sets up forward of the ball. Someone commented in the Hawks thread that at least Bolton has the players giving a stuff. Screaming headlines, folks, tonight they don't care. And attitude won't win games if the game plan is pedestrian in nature.

There's an elephant in the room, folks.[/quote

I think the post season will tell the tale. Agree the signs today are not good.

I think we have to be honest. We do have a lot of very ordinary players out there today. I say about 2 thirds of them would not be on any other teams list let alone playing in the firsts.

WTF is this? :banghead:  :screwy: :yikes:

Maybe new Carlton in the end is really just the old Carlton? Which is @#$%&! depressing.

draft kids and not give away early picks
