The brothers over at Big Footy are indicating we've cracked the 50,000.

Yup! Agree 100%! Need to aim for this at a minimum.

Some were critical of the club asking for 51,000 members before kick off. But to be honest, i reckon if we weren't so ambitious we probably wouldn't have cracked the 50,000 mark! Probably would have ended up around 48k or so.

Essendon* are at 55,000 - kills me to see so much support and faith from their members, despite all they've done. YES - Calrton have made mistakes in the past, but that's no reason to jump ship!

North have hit 45,000 - which is incredible, and well done to them!

Geelong have passed us with 51,000 - which isn't unexpected granted their dominance over the past 10 years or so. But still an indication of how far we've fallen.

Bulldogs and StKilda are hovering around the 40k mark........ but they have two of the most exciting list of youngsters coming through - so those figures will clearly grow.

Richmond are at 72,000.............. 72,000!!!!!....... can you believe that???? I know we've been a basket case but in the past 10 years we've been more successful than Richmond believe it or not!
In that time, they haven't won a final - we've won 3.
They won the wooden spoon in 2007, just a year after us..........yet in the past 10 years they've membership has increased dramatically yet ours has pretty much stagnated.

We need to be looking at 55,000 as a minimum next year and then......... hopefully,........... with some on-field success driving us, perhaps some love from the AFL for Friday night games and a marquee game a year (ie:- Good Friday) plus our Womens team..........hopefully aim for 60k+ members in the next 3 years or so.

Essendon** are at 55,000 - kills me to see so much support and faith from their members, despite all they've done. YES - Calrton have made mistakes in the past, but that's no reason to jump ship! THE MEMBERSHIPS ARE MAINLY 3 GAME

North have hit 45,000 - which is incredible, and well done to them! IF THEY CANT GET MEMBERS NOW THEY NEVER WILL

Geelong have passed us with 51,000 - which isn't unexpected granted their dominance over the past 10 years or so. But still an indication of how far we've fallen. K.P IS A GOLDMINE

Bulldogs and StKilda are hovering around the 40k mark........ but they have two of the most exciting list of youngsters coming through - so those figures will clearly grow. DEFINATELY

Membership numbers are a joke... Clubs have 3 game members, pet members etc. I want clubs to release how many "proper" members they have. Ours would actually be quite high as we were very very late into that whole new area of membership categories.

Carlton would be better off having 40,000 proper members and 10,000 being the rest, as compared to Richmond having 30,000 proper members and the rest being 3 game, pet members etc.
